My LO pretty much doesn't fall asleep nursing anymore. Now I don't have a chance to cut his nails!! When do you do it? I gave him a little cut once when I cut them while he was awake (it wasn't that bad - he actually didn't even notice) so now I'm nervous! My DH suggested I sneak in and cut them while he's sleeping lol.
Re: Cutting nails
I sit her on my lap facing out when she is ready to be less active. We practice counting while we are doing it. She is fairly interested in watching as long as I don't take too long. If she is too wiggly though, then I have to break it up into a couple different times.
Several people have also recommended @AllieAGame 's way to me, too.
He is pretty used to it now so he lets me with little fuss, I have the best luck doing it on his changing table though while he is laying on his back.

And then after he's done, I give him a treat from the jar and a good brushing.
I kind of blame you guys. Just kidding.....sort of. :P
We do it when he is sitting up in a bumbo or highchair and in between bites. Or on DH's lap.
But I want to say the the nail scissors (little yellow ones mentioned above) are 9 million times easier than the clippers.
Still while I clip and make funny faces.

If only you could litter box train him.
