S/O Xmas Toys

Where in the hell are you guys putting all these things? You guys are buying such fun things and all I can think of is I have zero room for this stuff. Our house is only 1400 sq ft and her room is maybe 10x10 ft.

All her junk and books are in the living room. I guess its time I start converting her nursery...

Re: S/O Xmas Toys

  • I need to start converting her room @bellaxanthe all her books are in our coffee table in the living room. I have so many ideas for her room but of course its not going to all fit. If I do a bookshelf/reading area, I cant do a table and chairs. But she really loves reading. I do like the idea of storage bins under the crib! I also was tossing around the idea of the tent or a play kitchen, but its not all gonna fit :(( and I refuse to keep adding to the living room junk pile.

I'm toys have just taken over our life. We have a bookcase in her room which is packed full. I want a better storage solution for her stuffed animals because they take up a lot of space now. But ultimately we just live in a toy store. Our house is around 1700 square feet.

Edit: the trampoline we ordered folds up so we should be able to store it between the couch & the wall. The only other bigger toy we asked for is a doll stroller. I would love a kitchen or anywhere chair for her but no way they would fit. We are putting our house on the market in the spring so once we have something bigger she will have a playroom.

  • You and me both, sister!  In a two-bedroom apartment with no private outdoor space and not much storage space, either, I'm keeping Christmas light!

  • We have a mud room between the garage and kitchen where his outdoor toys go (cozy truck, bball hoop, tball set, rocking horse). "Safe toys" go in his room since he's on a mattress now - he can independently play in there without worrying. Rest of his toys go in the living room - way too many. We keep them in beverage buckets or on a shelf. We definitely need to work on better toy storage.

  • I hear ya! Our house is small too - I think we only have about 1100 sq feet upstairs if that, and then a small amount of space downstairs in the mostly finished basement. I refuse right now to let our living room become a playroom so there are no toys in the living room.

All her toys are confined to her bedroom and since our friend moved out last month we have a room downstairs now with nothing in it. I'm converting it into a playroom so I've been moving excess toys down there.

She does have a bookshelf in her room that is full of books, plus there is one downstairs too. And we have bins that I throw all her toys into. She loves taking everything out of the bins - keeps her quite busy :)
