TTC Check-In

Good Morning! This thread is for anyone in the TTC process, whether you are in the planning stages or actively TTC. Let us know how you're doing and where you are at in the process.

Congrats to @ball.and.chain for making the move to the pregnancy check-in!

QOTW: (Borrowed from the pregnancy check-in) - As it is the month of thankfulness, what are you thankful for?

Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

Re: TTC Check-In

  • I am 9dpIUI and will be going in for a pregnancy test on Saturday morning.  R had this strong feeling that I got pregnant this time so fingers crossed her feeling comes true.  The second TWW has been easier then the first.  I am not over analyzing every little symptom and am just concentrating on the next try if this one doesn't work out.

I am thankful for the support of R and the feeling of being loved unconditionally I get from her everyday.

  • Thanks @StacyLH24 for continuing the thread!  Congrats, @ball.and.chain, on your graduation!!!!

So... I've been testing and I'm calling it a BF?.  I've been peeing on my sticks, and I peed on another today, and ever since Friday they have been suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper faint positives.  And I do mean SUUUUUUUUPER faint.  As in we have to stand in a certain light, turn it a certain way, and bam, there's the line.  If you stare at it the line appears but if you try to stare directly at the line it's harder to see.  You know what I mean?

They haven't gotten darker.  They haven't gotten lighter.  Today AF is due.  I feel like complete shit (pardon my language).  I have mild cramps off and on, I'm tired, I have mild nausea (like I feel like there's a lump in the back of my throat that I can't swallow and I'm on the verge of gagging), and I am PISSED OFF at absolutely everything.  I got very terse on the phone with a nice young lady who wasn't understanding my questions and I wanted to shout "Why aren't you getting anything I'm saying, you incompetent twit?!?!?!" My tone was condescending and now I'm feeling really guilty.  In any case, I need to get it together.  One of my halmark "good employee" attributes is my pleasant and cheerful disposition.  It's very much a facade today.

I called my RE and she's scheduling a beta test here in town for me.  I'm grateful.  I don't want to drive to Indy just to get my blood drawn.

Anyway... I'll post when I have a definitive BFN or BFP.  For now, I have no idea.  I know "a line is a line" but I don't know if I'm imagining things, if they're evaps, or if they're real.

So there you have it.  Maybe AF will start gushing forth this afternoon and I'll have my answer.  Temp was still high today though... so there's that.

So impatient.  I wish there was a way I could just know right now.

  • @wishiwaspreggo, it sounds like you have a very frustrating situation! I'm glad you're getting an in town beta. I hope that it turns out to be a true and sticky pregnancy. If it turns out to be a chemical pregnancy, I have heard a lot of anecdotal evidence that folks often get a chemical the cycle before they get a take-home baby pregnancy. So while I know that chemical pregnancies can be extraordinarily tough emotionally, I hope that if it does turn out to be that, it will be a sign that you've figured out the timing and everything with the RE and next time will be your take-home time.

M got her period on Friday so we she started on birth control pills on Saturday night. She goes in for a saline sonogram on Thursday to check out her uterus. I'm so nervous of it. I really hope it shows an all-clear. Assuming it looks good, M will do 2 weeks on the pill and then stop and get a period. She will go in on day two of that period to start on estrace.

I'm on the last day of pack of my pills. After this I will get a period and then start another pack on day two. I will do two weeks on that pack and then stop and then go in on my day 2 to start stimming. We expect that will be around Nov 23/24, depending on how long it takes to get my period each time.

As I mentioned in a post this weekend, on Friday I decided to start a high protein, lower carb eating plan (more than 25% protein, less than 40% carbs). I've read enough about how it can significantly improve eggs/embryos for IVF, that it is worth doing for 5 weeks. Plus, I will have to be eating high protein during stimming and immediately after ER to stave off OHSS anyway. I'm actually really enjoying it. I think it's because I'm thinking about it as "training." Also, I do like protein. Today I had a cup of cottage cheese with a cup of raspberries for breakfast and then I had a cup of eggs whites, with a half cup of black beans, spinach, onions, coconut oil, spices, cheese, and salsa for brunch/early lunch.  I'm at 74 grams of protein already, with more than 900 calories left to eat today (I'm not doing calorie restriction, but I am trying to keep an eye on calories--I've got 1800 calories on myfitnesspal as my daily goal).

I'm also going to be starting acupuncture on Wednesday.

QOTW: I'm so thankful for my partner-love @Manada. I'm thankful that time seems to be going fairly quickly and so we won't have to wait tooo much longer to start our IVF cycle. I'm thankful that our friends recently got pregnant through IVF, which restores some of my faith in it. I'm thankful for our sweet cuddly dog and our sweet cuddly cat. I'm thankful that we are only about a month and a half from going to Chicago to see my family. I'm thankful that I like protein.
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

  • @wishiwaspreggo I hope you get good news from the beta!

AFM, I officially start my cycle TODAY! That's right. Lupron in the belly tonight and onward, so on my last 5 days of BCPs now. Next Wednesday I will get my suppression check which I hope goes well - last time I had a cyst and it delayed me for a week. FX that doesn't happen this time. After that, I start patches and estrogen bloodwork and my lining check is the day before Thanksgiving. FET is scheduled for 12/5! Hopefully we'll stay on schedule.

QOTW: Today especially I am thankful for my beautiful wife J. We celebrate our anniversary today - 7 years since our first date! @2MamazinSeattle - thank you, and double congratulations to you on the start of your next cycle AND your anniversary!  It's a good day :)

ETA: @healz413, that's good to know!  Even if this is a CP I'll be happy because I'll know my eggs are fertilizable.

  • Hello everyone!
A and I are just back from the Doctor where they found I had one 23mm follicle. We triggered this afternoon and are doing IUI tomorrow. This will be our eighth shot!
Today I had a bit of a freak out because I am starting to worry this will never work. Also, I have become a little disenchanted with our doctor's office. Between A and myself we have been into the office at least 15 times and have literally never seen the same provider twice. With my many gender related sensitivities this has become overwhelming to me. It just feels like a revolving door to my downstairs... And we saw this doc on Friday who said they don't trigger until the follicles are 2cm, but the first time we did the trigger a different doc did them at 1.8. Just not a lot of consistency.
We are thinking about switching to an RE depending on the outcome of lucky number #8.

QOTD: I don't do this often because my wife is on the board, and I don't want anyone to think I am just tryin to get "points" at home. But as for thankfulness, I don't get much more thankful than having this incredible lady in my life. She "gets" me on a level that no one else ever has. I really never knew what happiness was before I met her.
I am also thankful for my family, for her family, our neurotic poorly behaved hounds, American Horror Story, the most incredible job, our home, apple cider in the fall, pool parties in the summer, University if Louisville winning the basketball national championship, and sooo much more.

Baby Hayden Frances born 12/20/14 at 11:11 a.m...  Our perfect little miracle.  Here's how we got here:

  • CD 3 for me as well. I went for my beta on Friday since I had already started spotting. The RE's office called that afternoon and said it was 6 and wanted me to go again today. Not long after they called me back and said they had made a mistake and had called me with someone else's results. Can't say I was so happy about that.

Moving forward... I'm scheduled for a laproscopy and hysteroscopy on November 19. He will be fixing a small dip in my uterus and also seeing if anything is wrong. If all goes well, we will start back up with our fourth IUI in December. I'm going to ask to move to injectable meds and see if that helps.

QOTW: I am thankful for my wife and both of our supportive families. Since starting our TTC journey, I am also very thankful for the great health insurance I have and my supportive boss and director.
