Soooooo happy to have
@ball.and.chain move to this check in!!!
QOTD: It's November! What (other than your pregnancy) are you thankful for right this second?
Re: Pregnancy Check-In
Hi Everyone!
I too am psyched to have @ball.and.chain join us today! Can't wait to hear how your beta goes today!
As for me, I am 9w6d today. I am trucking along with my morning sickness and trying not to be a miserable person HAHA. It is totally different from day-to-day. Today I feel decent so far. Yesterday I was a mess and laid on the couch for most of the morning. When I finally convinced myself to take a shower, I got violently sick, and was back on the couch for another 2 hours post shower. I finally got it together around 2pm and managed to grocery shop and run a few other errands. Since yesterday was so rough, I am hoping that means today will be OK. I don't usually have two super horrible days in a row, luckily.
QOTD: On a serious note, I am SO thankful for my wife and for her wonderful family. They are all so good to me and I love them. I am thakful for my own family as well, of course, but not everyone is so lucky to have such awesome in-laws and such a great relationship with their spouse's family, so I am very thankful for that.
On a less serious note, I am thankful that so far my breakfast seems to be sticking with me today, and I feel semi-human at the moment. I am also thankful that I found a dress this weekend to wear to the wedding that we are going to next weekend, and my wife thinks it is cute - so that is all that matters. I do have a little bit of a belly in it, so I think some of our friends are going to know, but I have decided that I don't care. I have what I am calling my little "blump" at this point - a bloat bump! I think most of it is left overs of my OHSS and the fact that my right ovary is still 3 times normal size. I know it is too soon to be legit showing, but whether it is normal pregnancy bloat, OHSS bloat, a little bit of baby, or a mixture of all three, that doesn't really matter. The moral of the story is that I have a bit of a belly now and I did not have that before, so I think people who know me well are going to start to notice... I have decided to just embrace it and be honest if anyone is bold enough to come right out and ask. Soooo.... I guess that means that I am thankful for my "blump" as well.

You are getting sooooo close! Your ticker says 17 more days to go! So exciting!
Also, a 14 lb baby? Seriously? I am going to have to google this ASAP. The thought of a baby HALF that size scares me. Dear lord, tell me that woman had a c-section...

@KH826 - sorry you are still struggling with severe "all day sickness". Hope you find relief in the 2nd tri which is right around the corner for you!
@pinksparks - hope your appointment goes well and you get some relief soon for you m/s and depression. My first two pregnancy's I found it difficult to feel "positive" about being pregnant in the first trimester. Of course I was grateful I had wanted to be pregnant, but feeling terrible all the time was hard to bear day after day. I hope you find the 2nd and 3rd trimester to be a relief :-)
@kaysa2 - welcome!! I wish you all the best continuing on this positive trend!! :-)
I am doing well this morning. Kaden was sick last week and then I caught it. Yesterday my fever climbed to 100.9 but a cool shower, tea, homeopathics and rest brought it down. I was worried since 101/102 is potentially dangerous in early pregnancy. But today aside from a sore throat I'm feeling better.
I'm 14 weeks 6 days and I hardly "feel" pregnant anymore. Sure I have a "blump" (Love that @KH826) and occasional mild cramps or round ligament pains but mostly I feel pretty good. I'm not even as tired. This Saturday is our gender reveal appointment at a 3D U/S place. I'm so looking forward to seeing our little bean again.
QOTD: I'm thankful to be feeling better, and thankful that K just lay down for a nap so I can tackle this homework. I am thankful for my friends and family and for the sunny day that I can see through the garden doors even if I'm inside typing away.
@KH, @pinkspark, and @kaysa2 - sorry y'all are all feeling so rotten. Glad there are a few of you with similiar due dates. Hope y'all can be good support for each other through
@pinkspark - I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling. Hopefully the end of the first trimester brings you some relief. I am glad that you have your wife to lean on!
@Kaysa2 - welcome! Sounds like you and I are right around the same point and will be due around the same time!
@Jazibel - So exciting that your gender reveal is coming up this weekend! I can't wait for you to share the news with us (I hope you will!). Also, so glad to hear that you are starting to feel better. You give me hope! HAHA
@ATXmommas - I found the story of the 14 lb baby... first of all, she did have a c-section, thankfully. Also, the dr estimated that the baby was 11 lbs, and they were shocked that he was actually 14. It also seems that the mom had type 1 diabetes before getting pregnant, and then gestational diabetes on top of it, and she was not keeping up with her insulin as she should have. It also seems that she was significantly overweight herself prior to pregnancy. All of these factors calm my fears a little bit (selfishly, for myself!), but the article I read did say that 1 out of 10,000 babies weighs 11 lbs or more and 1 out of 100,000 babies could weigh up to 14 lbs. It doesn't happen as much in the US since we have pretty close monitoring, but apparently babies of this size happen a lot more frequently in less developed countries. Oh man.

Sheesh. My SIL did not have GD with first two pregnancies and they were both over 10. She did have GD with second 2, so had to monitor closely, of course. They also induced a little bit early with them both and still over 9lbs. BUT, both my brother and SIL were about 10lb babies themselves, so not crazy that they had big babies. Did contribute to my assumption that I would have a big baby (I was 8lb, 15oz), but it doesn't look that way so far... It is what it is, so I try not to think about it!
But, without further ado, my blood HCG this morning was 271. Even considering I'm a day later than my previous betas, this is still quite a bit higher. The nurse said it was "very promising." I don't want to get my hopes up, but obviously this was good news.
If I'm calculating correctly, I'm 4w1d with an EDD of 7/13/14.
Thanks everyone for your warm welcome back to the PG check in!
QOTD: Where do I start? Besides being pregnant and having a great beta, I'm thankful for the bonus my wife got at work, my wife herself (of course), my amazing supportive Bump family and IRL friends, and a foot on the mend!

I'm noticing more indigestion now, when I lay down and tums is a great friend of mine. Last night I had some weird heart rate stuff going on, I could feel my heart beating, then it would go away and come back. I checked my heart rate and it was fine but fluctuating. Not sure what that was all about. I'm about to move into the going every week category with my OB which is fine with me. She's awesome and I like everyone at the office.
Oh something hilarious, I went to a post Halloween party Friday and was actually asked if this bump was my costume. It was so funny and I had to raise my shirt up to show it was MY belly. Never would have thought that would be a question lol.
@KH826 so sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. The 2nd trimester is way better and I hope you find relief soon!
@ATXmommas I totally understand the odd pains and feelings that are going on, although mine aren't at your level yet. It's so exciting how close you are getting!! It's funny how even a sneeze would cause a little concern
@kaysa2 Welcome aboard!! Glad you are here, and hope your difficulties ease up along the way.
@pinkspark Sorry to hear about your difficulties as well. It's great that your wife is your support. Hopefully the 2nd trimester brings you relief.
@Jazibel It's good to hear that you were able to get better. It's kinda scary being sick like that while having a little one completely depending on your body. So excited about your gender reveal!!! Yay!
All this talk about having huge babies, holy crap!! My granddad weighed 12 pounds when he was born...in the early 1900's and my great grandmother had four more after him!! I told my doctor I really don't want to have a 12 pounder!! She laughed and said bean won't be. I just can't imagine 14 pounds!!!
QOTD: I'm thankful for all the support I have had from friends and family during my pregnancy. I stepped off into foreign territory and it hasn't been bad at all with all my peeps. I'm also thankful for everything that I have. I feel very blessed.
@greysmom13 - swallowed a watermelon - I love it! Did your doctor tell you about spinning babies website? I believe it has tips on getting a breech baby to flip. My yoga teachers always tell women to spend some time on hands and knees - gives baby more room to flip. I've also heard that a flashlight can help. Point flashlight where his head is and move it slowly to the bottom - thought is that he will follow the light. Have no idea if any of that works, but worth a shot!
@ball.and.chain - sounds like good news to me :-) I look forward to Beta #2. Also Kaden was born (1 week late) on 7/13. So that's a great day to have a baby. Having a newborn in the summer was great, lots of light in the house even though we were indoors a lot. Warm weather. :-) (Of course for all those Fall and Winter mommas I'm sure a Fall/Winter baby is awesome too - cozy days inside, the holidays to celebrate!!).
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
1st ultrasound (3/6 6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.
***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

@ball.and.chain - yay for a fantastic beta! So happy to see you here!!!!
@herbabymama - so excited for you that you are off from work now and an just relax and get some nesting done before baby's arrival. I hope you and your wife enjoy this time!
@mwagner25 - I think you are likely everyone's hero on this thread for still working your ER shifts, especially given all the contractions you have been having, etc. I would say that I have a feeling that you will be the first of the 3rd tri peeps to go into active labor, BUT who the heck knows, right? You could hang on the longest of everyone in your little November EDD group! I just hope you are getting plenty of rest when you can and taking care of yourself. I will be thinking of you!
