Britax b agile vs chicco travel system ...

I do not plan on changing or buying n different strollers as the baby grows. I am looking for one stroller that can be used from newborn to until whenever( actually until when do you need to put your baby in a stroller .. 2yrs?) . I've been reading about chicco travel system and britax b agile. Which one would fulfill my needs? Nice to have: cup holder, durability, storage, easy squeezy mobility.

Re: Britax b agile vs chicco travel system ...

  • I'm not an expert on either brand since this is our first. I asked my friend who is an ob nurse and teaches classes she recommended Britax brand and said they are ranked pretty high off safety. We just received our b agile stroller system and I love it! I can't wait for our lo to come!

  • We went with the britax since it came highly recommended by a number of moms I know. It won't have all of the nice to haves, but you can buy accessories wo go along with it (I.e. the cup holder). My hubby has a bad back, so light weight was a must. The britax is just that, piece of cake! Good luck!
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.

There are absolutely no safety rankings on car seats.  Every seat that is currently on the market passes the exact same testings.  Britax infant seats are great, as are Chicco and every other brand out there.  The only caution would be when you start to look at convertible seats britax have an incredibly short shell so they are outgrown much earlier than most.

  • My sister bought her Chicco in 2008 for her first, and is still using the stroller part for her second. It is still in great shape and she has had no problems with it at all.

I just bought my Chicco for LO, and can't wait to break it in :)

I went with the b agile. Wish the basket was bigger and there was a cup holder though. I got a jolly jumper for the cup situation.

Most important for me was weight and how compact it was that's why the b agile imwon. Hands down the best in those two categories.

However I didn't get the system. I got a graco snugride 30 and a snap and go for the first 6 months or so. Again I'm all about lightweight. The britax seats don't fit in any snap and go frames. I bought everything used too, but in perfect condition so all together I spent $180 for the three pieces plus and extra base.

Definitely go to the store and test them both out, including folding, unfolding and carrying the stroller.

I have no experience with the Britax, but I have the Chicco travel system and I hate the stroller. I find it to be too big and bulky to get in and out of my car. I do love the infant carrier though.

If I were to do it again I would buy the Chicco carrier and a different stroller. Find the one that best fits your lifestyle. They don't have to be from the same brand, they just have to be compatible (and some brands have an adapter if they don't fit).

All this! I love most chicco products, but the stroller is terrible. It's too bulky, it is not smooth, it's hard to steer, it can handle the floors of a mall, but it does not work outside at all, even on concrete, not in grass or on gravel. It's cheaply made. I do like their umbrella strollers, but the one with the travel system just sucks, period. We just keep ours in my husbands car on the off chance he might need a stroller, it never gets used. Britax is made so much better. I wish we would have went with the b-ready to be able to convert to a double with a 2nd seat. It's the way to go if you plan on more. And you will need it longer than 2 years. Mine is 26 months, he will be in a stroller for another year or two, especially on long outings where he will get tired.

  • We're going through the same thing, only in double strollers.

We shopped around and played with the Britax B-Agile (they didn't have the model we were looking at on the floor, so we hoped there would be some similarities between that one and the B-Ready we were looking for).  I haven't actually used this with my daughter, but I preferred the way the B-Agile folded compared to the Chicco.  It was lighter and easier to maneuver by myself.

  • We went with the Chicco Travel System... It is very easy to use and we love the features. Hope that helps!
