Pregnancy Brain?

Ok, so I never really believed so called "pregnancy brain" was a reality.  Not even 5 weeks in however and I'm starting to doubt my brain is still functioning at times.  A prime example, my breakfast this morning.  Decided to go for eggs and turkey sausages.  Pulled the turkey sausages out of the fridge, sat them on the counter and went to grab a plate from the cabinet.  As I'm grabbing my plate, I guess my mind just wipes blank and I'm thinking "plate, plate, why am I grabbing this plate out...hmmm...right, sausage".  So I set my plate down on the counter and head back to the fridge looking for my sausages.  It's a no go, I can't find them. I'm starting to get angry thinking DH ate them all, so I shut the fridge and turn to berate him only to see the package sitting on the counter.  Yea...lol, I told DH and he thinks I'm losing it.

Please, someone set my mind at ease.  Tell me I'm not the only one.

I could tell two weeks ago. I kept losing money. Then after going crazy I realized I spent it. Also dumb word fumbles. I talk all day at work (hairstylist) so I could tell I was just off. Also day dreaming a lot.
  • I'm noticing it too at 5 weeks. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

  • I'm already losing it. Today our realtor did an open house and I put some of the kids toys in a garbage bag to clear them out of the house so the baby's room wouldn't look cluttered when she showed it... Fast forward to a few hours later. I get home, said bag of toys is missing, I have no recollection of what I did with it, don't remember taking it with me when I left, and it's nowhere to be found?! The house is spotless-- there are only so many places it can be. Checked to make sure I didn't throw it out with the trash-- I did not. Hubby wasn't home so he didn't mess with it... There's no telling!! I'm crazy!

  • This was actually my first symptom last week in wk4 that clued me in that the faint-faint line might really-really be a line! I'm forgetting words and to-dos. Thank goodness I'm a list maker by habit, it's come in handy this week already!

I'm a list maker too.  Made a stop at the grocery store yesterday without making a list beforehand and forgot almost everything.  Good to know I'm not the only one at least.  It seems a little early to lose brain function, but it's all worth it.

  • I went to the bank the other day to make a deposit for my company and at the banks here you send your check and deposit slip through these little plastic cylinders. Well at the end of the transaction instead of putting the cylinder back I just drove off with it. About an hour later I left to get lunch and heard the most annoying noise so I tore my car apart looking where it was coming from. Low and behold it was that damn cylinder banging around on the floor. Needless to say the bank was very happy to get it back. Oops!

  • Yup. I am a total bubble brain right now. Which is not good because my schedule is WAY too busy for that.

  • I haven't noticed much, other than accidentally omitting half of the butter in the banana bread yesterday. What a waste of good banana bread.
