Pregnant after IF

*Serve It Up Sunday*

I'm going to start off by saying I'm on my iPad so apologies for no paragraph breaks. I was so happy to see so many recipe and dinner ideas last week! Let's keep them coming! 1) What are you craving? 2) Anything still unappealing to you? 3) Give a recipe or meal idea you've used with success or plan on trying this week.

  • 1) I'm not craving anything in particular. When I'm hungry, most things sound good. Yay trimester 2! 2) pasta with red sauce surprisingly sounds unappealing still. We went out to dinner last night and I was bracing myself for Italian food, but DH let me pick because he says baby trumps all so we went to a Thai place. score! So good...drunken rice, beef satay, peanut sauce, panang curry. I was one happy camper! 3) it's supposed to rain here in SoCal tomorrow, so I'm thinking crock pot, either beef stew or potato soup. Links are from Pinterest. https://www.familyfreshmeals.com/2013/10/best-crockpot-beef-stew.html https://topfoodpics.com/?p=4076 For soup, ill probably add diced ham.

  • I'm craving chocolate and ice cream. I finally caved in yesterday and allowed myself to go to Starbucks (ordered a decaf soy peppermint mocha). Of course, I felt guilty when some man in line was staring at my belly and giving me "the judging look". Unappealing--depends on a day to day basis. Last night I got off my butt and cooked DH's favorite: Rachael Ray's Shepherd's Pie https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/30-minute-shepherds-pie-recipe/index.html I may cook up pork chops with apples and onions tonight.

That beef stew looks yummy. I think I may try that next week!

  • I just made puttanesca sauce from scatch: I have a simple recipe. Veggies (onion, peppers), mushrooms, can of diced organic tomatoes, garlic stuffed olives, anchovies, tons of extra virgen olive oil, salt, crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer for 30 mins. Spicy, salty, healthy. Ummmmmmmm. Over brown rice linguini gluten free pasta :)

All I want is a cold cut sandwich from subway and I can't have it :( lol it's sucks. I'm not having that many food aversions and I can eat chicken again. Hopefully it keeps getting better.

For dinner tonight I'm making green beans and with bacon and red peppers and baked pork chops with mashed taters. Mmm I love fresh green beans and the bacon and red peppers add a salty sweet taste it's so good.

  • Happy Sunday all!

Big change from last week for me. Right now I'm craving... nothing. Morning sickness has hit me hard and I'm hanging on by eating peanut butter toast immediately when I wake up. Then a few more hours goes by and oh, look peanut butter toast again for lunch. Dinner I have more flexibility but I'm still keeping it kind of bland. And I'm running out of peanut butter but too lazy to go to the store :(

For lunch I'm thinking of making caesar salad wraps and maybe a side of quinoa with avocado. For dinner I'm going to dig around in my freezer to find something for the crockpot. Once I do that I'll update with recipe :)

  • I'm making our usual Sunday night miso ginger salmon with salad a Brussels sprouts (we are one of those super healthy households). Tomorrow it will be drunken Italian noodles and Wednesday is roman style chicken https://thecozyapron.com/a-cozy-pasta-italian-drunken-noodles-and-shaking-things-up-a-bit/ https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/roman-style-chicken-recipe/index.html
  • Update: Crock pot thing didn't work out... apparently my body decided to crash and went into a 2 1/2 hour nap instead! :)

Here is what I'm making now: https://blog.freepeople.com/2012/10/recipe-healthy-hearty-red-lentil-soup/

It's a rich and hearty lentil soup and it's bomb! Even if the pic does make it look kinda gross lol.

I LIVED on peanut butter toast through first tri!! :) Without that, I would have lost so much more weight than I did.

Still not having any major cravings, but my appetite has definitely kicked up a notch this week. With the start of some colder weather this week, we'll be having oatmeal for breakfast, which I love. I'm also planning on making pumpkin bread using the jack-o-lantern that we never carved. :)

    PAIF/SAIF/Everyone Welcome!

  • I envy all of you for being able to cook right now, LOL!  I'm still dealing with all day nausea, although I think my weight loss has finally stopped after about 10 lbs.  I'm starting to be able to eat bits of things again at times, as long as it's about an hour after my Zofran.  I have been able to eat steak fajitas twice from my favorite place, just asked them to make them not too spicy, and polished off the (somewhat bland) guacamole myself.  Although, I'm eating tiny bits of fajitas and rice and beans.  :)  Planning dinner is not smart for me right now - who knows what I'll actually be able to eat by the time 7 rolls around?

However, I am still loving apples, pineapple, strawberries, baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese - and I can tolerate cottage cheese with my fruit.  It's getting better!  Maybe next week I can start making some of these yummy recipes you keep posting!  :D
