Mountain Buggy +One and Duet

Anybody know anything about this stroller? I had been leaning towards the City Select with the extra seat for our toddler and soon-to-be newborn, but there is a Mountain Buggy +One on a local resale page that I'm interested in. How much space is there for both children? Can one (or both) seats recline? I'm also concerned about the sun shade...my toddler is a fair-skinned redhead so it is a must for me that both seats have coverage. From the pictures I've seen online it's not clear to me whether or not the front seat is covered with a sunshade.

I also just discovered the Mountain Buggy Duet...any experience with that one?

Re: Mountain Buggy +One and Duet

  • No experience with these, but I have the Mountain Buggy Terrain and love it!   Easy to push in the snow, which is a big deal where I live!

The duet is a nice stroller, I have seen it in person, very small for a double!

  • I have the duet and it is a good stroller- pros are the super smooth ride and it really is the best to maneuver with it only being 25 inches across. Also it is super comfortable for the kids. My redhead has not gotten a burn while riding in it, but I also am always reapplying the sunscreen (shades are big but not as big as a baby jogger or valco).  However it takes up a lot of trunk space and is heavy and not the easiest to fold.  I could be wrong, but I believe with the plus one that if using the infant carseat, that there is no space for the 2nd child.  Also it is the same width as the duet, so if choosing between those 2 I would go with the duet if you have the space.   Mountain buggy has also had excellent customer service with the few minor issues I have had.
  • I would also do the Duet over the +One.  The +One is awesome but not really as a fulltime double since the seats don't recline.  There's also a kind of awkward phase with it where the baby is too big for the bassinet but may not be able to sit up unassisted yet.  I think it's an awesome choice for older kids or as a car stroller.

Everyone I know who has the Duet loves it.  It's SO narrow and the push is great.  I think the City Select doesn't push very well personally.
