So I have a low placenta that was checked yesterday and because it has still not moved my ob scheduled me for a csection. They will do an ultrasound the week before the surgery date just to double check if it has moved and if it has they will cancel my csection. Anyone else with placenta previa already been given a csection date? My dd was dec 30 originally and thought it seemed a bit early to be scheduled.
I also had partial placenta previa at 20 weeks, and it moved by my 27 week appointment. However, when discussing with my doctor she said she wouldn't be scheduling a C section dat ein the event of it not moving until 36 weeks or so, but all doctors are different. You still have a chance of it moving. My doctor anted it to move 2 cm in order to attempt a vaginal delivery. Do you know where yours is currently? Good luck, but I think you still have a chance of it moving before hand. The chances of it moving are somewhere close to 97% percent in partial and in the 90s for full.
Married - 8/04/2006 DD - 7/31/2011 MC - 12/4/2012 (10.2 weeks) BFP - 4/15/2013 * Due - 12/20/2013 (Team Green!)
I have a low rising placenta and they already scheduled my c-section for December 15 ( my due date is 12/21). I will have another ultrasound at 34 weeks( in 2 weeks) and see what happens from there. But I think is a good thing that I have a date, now I can learn more about c-sections and the recovery period. That way I guess I will be better prepared if it happens.
I had placenta previa with my first child and it is definitely not something to mess with. We thought it moved enough but I went into labor early and that caused the placenta to abrupt and ended with an emergency c/s. I would just do whatever the doctor suggests and be thankful that we have the technology now to know about potential complications in advance. Just be ready for the ride because what we plan doesn't matter - that was one of our biggest lessons learned the first time around.
I don't have placenta previa, but will be having a scheduled c-section (I've already had 2). I'm 34 weeks and it hasn't yet been scheduled. I'm due 12/12 and they'll probably schedule me for 12/5 because I'll be 39 weeks then. I anticipate they'll put me on the schedule when I go back in 2 weeks.
I don't have previous but will be having a RCS and it was scheduled when I was about 14 weeks. I have known for a while what the date will be. So it isn't too early. Every doctor schedules differently.
I had it with my first but it moved by my anatomy scan so we never actually scheduled the c-section, but it doesn't seem to early to schedule it. Every Dr is different and schedules are different and in my opinion it's best to get that date set. And if they are checking you the week before, then it's all good. Good luck!
I wonder if it depends on your practice and /or hospital. We new mine would be scheduled (RCS momma here), and we've had a date since 7 months. Due 12/5, scheduled 12/2. Emergency C/S if I go into labour before.
I'm cpp and we are scheduled for 39 1 day. I haven't bled, but doc told me to be ready to go at 36 weeks. Had 33 w us yesterday and found out she is also transverse, face up, and I have 21 cm of amniotic fluid. 32nd percent on weight. We follow up w doc next week...I'm wondering if these other complications will cause him to do the csection earlier? Does anyone have any thoughts?
