4 weeks ish.... Everything its too soon to take a preg test but I already have a POSSITIVE

So slightly concerned. Let me start by saying this is my second preg. and it was very hard for us to conceive this time where the last was too easy. Well my LMP was on 10/5/2013 and they had me take Clomid days 3-7 of my cycle. I did this and according to an ovulation test I was most fertile day 8-11. Well anyways here it is day 26 and this is the third day I've had a positive test. Im slightly worried but is there such thing as a false positive test? I called me OB and they have already scheduled me to come in for a check up in 2 weeks. I asked if this was too early to even call then and they said do. Is it too early? Thoughts?

False positives are really really rare. Only if there is something else wrong with your body where you're producing HCG would that happen. If you ovulated on day 11, you would be 15dpo. It is not uncommon to get a positive result then. I actually tested positive at 10dpo. Congratulations!

I had a positive at exactly 4 weeks. Take another test in a few days if you would like more of a confirmation.  Congrats!

Great.... Okay thanks ladies! I was thinking this was not accurate and worries its been a long haul of over a year TTC. Fingers crossed!

Nope, the only way you would have a false positive is if you had recently given birth or had a m/c or abortion and there was still HCG in your system. So congrats, you are pregnant! Sounds like you ovulate early anyway. I got my earliest positive at 7DPO (or 3 weeks pregnant) so it wouldn't be unusual that you are getting one close to 4. Congrats!

Make sure you are using a pink dye test (like a FRER) not a blue dye.  Blue ones are known for false positives so to be safe get a pink dye one

I have a 25 day cycle and I got my first faint line on 9dpo which was technically 3w3d pg for me. I took a test the next day and it was positive and must darker line. I called the Dr. and they said it was too early. I went in and they did a pee stick test and it was negative but they took my blood anyways. They called me back and my beta was 21, then I went back 3 days later and it was 200. They have me coming in next week for another draw and every test that I have taken is positive.

I got my positive at exactly 4 weeks also. Now I'm 11 weeks.

I got my positive at 4 weeks 0 days as well. If it makes you feel any better, take another in a week. The line should be nice and dark then.

4 weeks is definitely not too early for a positive test. If you are truly 4 weeks, based on when you ovulated, that's 14dpo. Pretty standard. I got a positive at 9 dpo, or 3w2d.

Blue dye tests can be notorious for false positives. Otherwise, they don't generally happen unless you're experiencing something like rowanthefrog described.

I got my positive before two weeks (3w5days) I was only 9dpo. Definitely possible. Congrats

I dont believe its too early.  With both my pregnancies, I tested positive 3 days before my missed period.  And both had very strong lines (idk if that means anything) with pink dye tests.  I am now on week 13 with my 2nd pregnancy and my 1st pregnany was prefect!

Ovulating late doesn't have anything to do with when you get your postive. Regardless of LMP, when you ovulate, you're 2 weeks pregnant. So, at 3w6d, you're 13 dpo either way.
