Peg + Cat

So I don't put it in the UO, and we don't end in talking about kids' shows...

This is currently my favorite animated show for DD.  It's one of the few shows that focuses on math rather than just language.  Plus, the animation is adorable. She also plays a ukulele!

Re: Peg + Cat

  • We just found this, and my 2 year old is really into it, too. Bonus- I don't find it annoying!

  • The fact it's drawn on graph paper is kind of the best.

  • My DD just discovered this show last week and loves it! She is also a Team Umizoomi fan, so I foresee her math skills far exceeding mine.  Go TV!

  • Team Umizoomi must be on something other than PBS.  We've never watched any programs outside of the PBS shows.

It is on Nickelodeon.  I actually hate that channel because they have so many fucking commercials.  If I turn it on for her, I quite literally hear, "Mom, can I have that for my birthday?" after every fucking commercial.

A few days ago I was walking by when there was yet another commercial on, and heard the inevitable, "Oh, Mom! I really love that! Can I have that for my birthday?"

It was a goddamn epi-pen commercial!  Commercials make her want all the things.

  • Guess we'll be sticking with PBS then @missymo.

  • Honestly, I would @missyishere.  I've really dialed the Nickelodeon back because of the commercials.  It is flat out ridiculous.   PBS has the best stuff anyway.

  • I love the shit outta this show! So does DS. "I am TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!"

    SEAHAWKS! And... Macklemore. Seattle's WINNING!
  • LO loves this one too, I don't know what I'd do without PBS

  • @pobrecita when you're DS is older, you'll love this show due to its focus on math.

  • I'm not sure @sterling13. It's a pretty new show, so I don't think it will be on Netflix yet.

  • If you can find Signing Time, it's also a great one. The host is a little obnoxious, but my child is learning sign language really well.

  • @missymo Are you watching regular Nick or NickJr?  NickJr is much lighter on the commercials and the ones they do have mostly target adults.

My daughter once told me she needed whitening strips to whiten her teeth-thanks commercials.  This is why we watch almost everything on DVR.  Commercials skipped!
