It's like a conspiracy

I hate to harp on this open enrollment crap but honestly - it's making my eyes bleed.  It's like they want you to just give up, close your eyes and point.  I've got shit tons of documents here (trying to choose from 5 plans at two different companies) and the documents from the same companies aren't even consistent.  One document lists Plan A in column 1.  On a different document they use column 1 for the similarly named but decidedly different Plan B, etc.  I'm thankful to have the options, for sure but damn, I feel like I need a PhD to make a decision.

  • Reading insurance information is the absolute worst.   I swear they make it as confusing as possible so you'll just go "Fuck it, give me the best policy."

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK.  Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.

@CinemaGoddess I'll admit, that's what we've done in years past.  We just take the most expensive one.  But it's CRAZY expensive and they just changed it so it isn't as good and we could use the savings on a lesser plan.  Except not when you read the fine print to see all the shit it excludes.  We've decided against the "Sucks you got the cancer" plan for that reason and now we're down to 5 choices.  Ugh.

Honestly, I've had the same experience shopping for health care privately and choosing between plans my employer offers. Health care is just a nightmare.
