OK so, I've been meaning to make these for a couple weeks and today I finally busted the sewing machine back out. I just put it away from making diapers not long ago. My husband will be ever so happy to see it on the dining room table again. Gah, I really need a craft room. Anywho, check out this adorableness. I made 4 pair of baby leg warmers for Savannah. The navy blue pair are for her cousin, a boy, who is 7 months, hence the longer length.

Super cute!! How did you sew the bottom of them? Did you just cut the foot off and fold up and sew?

You cut off the toe and heel. Then fold the middle "foot" part in half, slide onto the leg matching all the ends up and sew. This makes the bottom cuff. Super easy. For smaller babies cut off about an inch or so from the length of the middle and/or leg depending on your baby. Savannah is lean but really long so I only removed an inch from the leg portion. Once she's older I'll make some without the extra inch removed. Of course, if you want you can leave it as is. They will just be a little long for now. Honestly for the price (about $1 each pair depending on where you buy your socks) it's no big deal to make more later in a larger size.
I have leg warmers for my boy. I just have more boyish designs. He has black & grey argyle, flames, red stars, skull & crossbones. I hate putting pants on him, he kicks so much and then wrestling them on & off every time we have to change his diaper sucks.
Re: Aw: baby legs PIP
We use baby legs in winter under pants. Especially when baby wearing, it helps to keep their legs covered.
