Spotting in CM

Sorry for the TMI question but has anyone ever experienced blood in very thick, stretchy CM?  I've been awful with upping my water intake so I check internally.  I've been having relatively fertile CM the last few days, but a little bit on Sunday then a bit more today there was dark brown blood in my CM.  Any idea what that might be or what it might mean?  Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated
