Zaiden, Caiden, Jaiden, Braiden

I was just at the store and the lady in front of me started to talk to me and asked what my kids names were. After I told her, she said she has 4 grandsons named Zaiden, Caiden, Jaiden, and Braiden (obviously not sure about spelling). I have no idea if they are siblings or cousins but oh my gosh that is a lot of Aiden names for one family!

Am I just sensitive to my siblings on a different level from other people? I would never dream of using a name that rhymed with my nieces'/nephews' names (well, we only have one niece right now, but still).

I was a little shocked. I think I said something like, "Oh wow!" And then I have DH a look and he giggled.

I've had a bad day today. My alter ego would have said "Oh, it's cute you think of your children's dogs as your grand kids"  Because in my mind, you'd only do that to animals.

I think I would have just stared and blinked at her for an eternity.  Or I would have had to turn away and try really hard not to laugh or make a snide comment.

I can't imagine rhyming all of my kids names. Holy cow.

Wow. Add to the thread about what tests you do with name ideas the cousin rhyming test. I will confess to trying out DDs name alongside her 5 older cousins to double check my mom wouldn't sound ridiculous naming all of them together on her christmas card or at the grocery store!
