We've settled on Henrietta for a FN, but I'm still not in love with a MN. I feel like Henrietta goes best with a short name that doesn't also end in -a. Unfortunately, a lot of my favorite names just sound too sing-songy with it (Sylvia, Norma, etc.). I'm looking for something with either with an old-lady vibe (but not your standard Rose or Grace), or an Irish name. Right now, are top choices are:
Henrietta Hazel
Henrietta Maeve
Henrietta Violet
What do you think of those choices? Any other suggestions?
Re: 39 weeks--need middle name for Henrietta
I'm loving Henrietta Hazel and Maeve!
How about: Iris, Astrid, Louise, Anne, Carys
Oscar born October 2011
Miscarriage at 8 weeks (August 2013)
DD due September 1, 2014
I really like Henrietta Maeve. You could also do Henrietta Niamh.
Others:
Henrietta Iris
Henrietta Jane
Henrietta Eve
Henrietta Irene
Henrietta Joan
Henrietta Pearl
Thanks for all the advice! Henriette Maeve is in first place right now. LO's last name is only two syllables, so it isn't too much of a mouthful, but it is also a noun, so I feel a little funny using other nouns, such as flower names, or adjectives, as midldle names. Thats why I think Violet is probably out.
I really like Henrietta Jane, Henrietta June, and Henrietta Mae. We don't have any family names or people we want to honor right now, just looking for a nice combination.

Dunno if that was mentioned already.

Second, of your choices, I like the flow of Henrietta Maeve best. (I love Hazel, but I'm not loving the way Henrietta Hazel sounds)
Third, if you're looking for further suggestions, I think Henrietta Pearl or Henrietta Louise sound nice.
Loving all the suggestions! I love Iris and Pearl, but I think they are out because of the "noun" thing. Also love Louse, but it is too close to DD1's name, Eloise. I want to love Ruth, and I love the NN Ruthie, but Ruth itself sounds a little harsh to me. Plus, I always think of Goonies, and Sloth saying "Baby ROOTH."
My favorite Irish name is Finnoula, but that is way too much of a mouthful. I've never heard Niamh before! I'll have to think on that. I would love to honor my Irish heritage.
