Success after IF

Ugh! Poor baby

Why does being a parent have to be so hard??
DS fell down tonight (again) and hit his front tooth on our stupid bed frame!!! It was bleeding like crazy and his front tooth is mobile. DH thinks his tooth is gonna die and turn brown and/or it'll need to be pulled.
DS is only 2 and he's already had stitches and now this.
I feel like such a horrible mom even though I know it couldn't have been prevented.

You are not a horrible mom! Still, i can completely understand why you are upset. will you take him to the dentist today? or just wait to see what happens? poor little guy. :-(

DH is a dentist, we're taking DS into his office today to get an X-Ray to get an idea of what happened.
But most likely it's just a waiting game

I've been very tired and have felt a little sick to my stomach on and off but nothing major. With DS the all day sickness started at 6 weeks so I'm kinda waiting for it to hit me, but hopefully not!

The bleeding stopped thankfully, but he bit his bottom lip and has a huge fat lip this AM. The good news is, he's in great spirits. Now I just want him to wear a helmet wherever he goes!!

I fully support the helmet idea.  My little guy did a face plant in the driveway last weekend, and literally scraped a layer of skin off his entire nose.  He looked like he was wearing warpaint (luckily it was superficial and scabbed and healed within a week).  Helmet = necessity.....  ;)

  • A knocked out one of her teeth when she was almost 2 when she fell into the coffee table. My dentist assured me that this was very common, because baby teeth are not as strongly connected in the gums as adult teeth.

So don't feel so terrible. It happens!

My DD#1 just did that to her front teeth last week!  She was crawling around at school pretending to be a doggy, and one of the other little girls gave her a push to make her go faster...and knocked her over on to her teeth.  Her mouth was bleeding like crazy and her front 2 were definitely mobile, so we went to the dentist to get an x-ray, too.  Her permanent teeth were just fine underneath, and after a week, the baby teeth still haven't changed color and are much more stable!  I am not sure how we managed to keep the color - a year ago we didn't even know what she did and one of her front teeth turned a bluish-grey.  Thankfully it turned back to white a few weeks later!

I hope your little guy's teeth stay in as well!  Good luck!
