Trying to Get Pregnant

Bleeding, early period?

On average I get my period every 30 days or so, last time was on the 6th of this month. However, tonight I noticed blood, and not just a drop or two, but not enough to be my period. I don't have cramps like I normally would (I get them BAD). Is is possible that if I was pregnant that this would be a very early miscarriage, or just the extra stress of trying to conceive causing my period to come more then a week early? I was really shocked to see blood so early as that would make this months cycle only 22 days. I did take a pregnancy test early this morning, but it was only after 4 hours of sleep, and it showed negative, but I thought it was too early to test anyway. Thank you to anyone who is helpful.

Re: Bleeding, early period?

  • Do you chart? Download fertility friend and start temping and charting your cycles (this idea is fairly new to me too)... But what I have learned is that their is no way to know and understand your cycle otherwise. If you were pregnant at this time the test would tell you so. My cycle is 28 days every month without fail and this month I am heading into day 32 and nothing... The human body is a complex thing!! I would read and lurk on this board for a bit and get to know the community. I am learning so much!! Hope you stick around and best of luck TTGP!
  • I don't think you would miscarry on CD 23. I would bet this is just an early period. Try charting your cycles like mentioned above, you might learn that your norm is not quite what you thought it was. Cycles can definitely vary.

    Good luck OP!

Thank you everyone. There was no bleeding overnight or this morning. I've never had spotting before or my period start so early. Oh the joys of womanhood... :)

I did start an account with fertility friend and listed my last 5 periods. It shows I'm due after the 5th like I thought.

Wow thanks for all the info! I didn't realize I need to upload daily. I'm not temping because my schedule is always fluctuation. I could be up as early as 4am or as late a 10am depending on my work schedule that day. I've been monitoring cm, which is why I thought I ovulated on the 18.

Great tips! I wake up several times each night anyway :-/ do you recommend a particular thomomator?

And 10am is not sleeping in. :( that just means I didn't get home until 3 in the morning. Some nights I'm lucky to get 4 hours of sleep, such as last night. But 3 hours should not be a problem. :)

Also, what's the benefit of temping as opposed to intercourse every other day or more? I also bought those ovulation pee sticks.
  • Got it thanks!!

Now silly question. Would you say there is an age range when temping and tracking ovulation is more necessary to conceive? I assume that if I were much younger getting pregnant would be much easier and use the were not trying but not preventing method which has worked for my friends that had children in their early 20s. I guess I'm wondering if I'm not really tracking and timing if it will take a very long time to conceive because I'm older.

I'm 22 and plan on temping next cycle. There's no age limit on knowing for sure what your body is doing
  • Thank you again everyone. I bought a basal thermometer tonight and will start temping tomorrow. If no luck next cycle, we are going to take a break until April, so crossing our fingers!!

Still not sure what's going on with this period. Stopped spotting until tonight around 6pm, and then nothing again (It's 3 hours later). Starting to worry that I have cysts on my ovaries again.

Phew that was bothering me. Anyways, she's right. You're being dramatic. You got great answers. Honest answers. Also the flag button? Not a dislike button.
  • You know what, your all correct. This is not the place for me. Didn't know this site was full of hormonal bitches. If I had all the answers I would not have come on here. Thought this was a place for support and where people help each other, now where you would get attacked for having concerns. I feel sorry for your kids...

I'm more astounded that you used the wrong form of "you're" after I corrected you.

    Anyways....is this a BINGO?

Ah... There it is. Imagine that. OP starts the name calling first and we're the the hormonal bitches. Yeah, ok. Also, you asked a question, it was answered. If you're looking for hugs and people walking on eggshells around you, this isn't the place for you. As a matter of fact, the majority of the Internet isn't for you.
  • You feel sorry for our kids? Well I feel sorry for everyone who wasted their time giving you advice.
