I am finding that I am way more freaked out about the food part of pregnancy than I was with my daughter. I was told not to eat deli meat or feta, so I stayed away & ate everything else. I feel like so much more can cause listeria that I am freaked about eating anything. I don't even want to eat salads because they are so hyper-sensitive about it. I realize that I am being over the top, but I'm feeling really stuck here.
What are you guys eating? I don't want to live on crap.

Re: Food
I ate a whole lot of nuts/seeds/cheese. For a while I was eating XXL grilled stuft burritos at Taco Bell because they were an easy way to polish off a third of my calories for a day, but GD diagnosis put an end to that. That's when things got really tough. Getting lots of calories without using empty carbs to do it is NOT easy. Looking for calorie dense foods and mixing all of your carbs with protein is the best advice I can offer. Peanut butter, avocados, non-soft cheeses (mozzarella, jack, swiss, etc), olive oil or margarine on everything, sunflower seeds in your (washed) salads... Ufffhh so glad to be done with the pregnancy foods!

One book that I found helpful is "When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads" by Dr. Barbara Luke and Tamara Eberlein. The third edition has a lot of diet info and recipes. I believe a lot of it is based loosely on a diabetic diet.
