I know this is an older post...but I figured what the heck! All of a sudden I have had this thing where all babies need something homemade when they arrive. There is no one in my family or friends that makes things, so that left it up to me! After ruling out knitting fairly quickly, I settled on crocheting. After two FAILED, to put it lightly, attempts on booties, I have started a blanket for her. It's going very well and I'm hoping after this I can retry those booties!!

I made coming home outfits, along with blankets for my boys. I've finished one teddy bear and just need to do the other one now.
Though I think I need to redo the C on Connor's blanket, its a little small compared to the K...

I made a puff quilt :-) pretty impressed with myself as it's my first quilt I've ever made.

Otherwise I refinished an old drum table and a shelf for nursery. I painted a fingerprint tree to hang. I like crafty things. Next I plan to paint letters for his name to hang.

Completed the DIY window valance. The picture isn't all that great. It has yellow and various shades of orange chevrons. Overall, it's 8 feet long and 16 inches tall.

I'm not a crafty person at all.  Even after looking on pinterest and on here to get ideas from you all I was drawing a blank.  The local wine & design place isn't doing any pics I'd want in the nursery.  I was feeling sad about not making little fella something from me from the heart for him to always look back on.  I started praying about it to try to find an idea/inspiration.  Then it hit me.  I saw all kinds of inspirational signs/messages to hang on the wall but I've decided to get a large blank canvas and paint the background a coordinating nursery color (not 100% decided yet on color) and then write/paint a prayer for my son onto it to hang.  When he gets old enough to read/understand my prayer I think it will be something he will cherish (or at least I hope so).

@satrimm‌ I'm not one for overly expensive stores, but my MIL drug me into an Aeropostale a few weeks ago and they had the most incredible handles and pulls. I don't know if you have one around you, but maybe they have them listed online? I also have no clue how much they were but maybe you could mix and match? Like I said, they were absolutely incredible and they had TONS.

I think you mean Anthropologie. Also Hobby Lobby has a ton of knobs but not sure if they have as many handles, if that is what you are looking for. I don't remember.

I've been excited for the day I can post this here... DH and I FINALLY put together our crib last night and I snapped a quick photo this morning to show you guys. Three layers of paint followed by three layers of water-based polyurethane... this project took FOREVER, but I think it was definitely worth it!

I made this cloud mobile for baby. We haven't hung it over the crib yet bc I'm not set on where the crib will be in the room. Most of the clouds are made from my mom's favorite white hoodie. She passed away 3 years ago, and I figured she would approve of me cutting it up for this purpose.

And made up the rest. She used hers a LOT and absolutely loved it. I'm thinking I may attempt to sew myself one too, but we'll see if I ever get around it to it...

@joules235 My sister used old curtains that had a denim-like texture (but not quite as thick) and lined it with flannel. She also had a June baby, but I don't think she used it much before my nephew could hold up his own head. She was probably using it all the time by end of August. I remember her complaining a bit about her 'little furnace' but it didn't stop her from baby wearing almost every waking moment. The pattern does suggest using some pretty heavy fabrics (canvas, denim, etc.) but I wonder if you could reserve the heavy fabrics for the straps and support bands, and make the rest out of a sturdy mesh? Might make it a little cooler.

@arekeweg We have a mini crib so I'll be making my own sheets also.  I found a step by step on the internet.  What did you use to make yours?

@Natalie78WW‌ I used a knit fabric that was in the nursery section. This way it was soft and stretchy.

I sewed two fitted crib sheets and a crib skirt and I refinished the dresser that we will use as her change table! That's about the extent of it.
