Anyone use Luvs?

DS has been leaky lately and mostly out the legs. I bought a pack of Luvs to try because they claim to have some super-special leg lock whatever. They seem to be working out okay, but I was just curious if anyone really liked them. I'd love to switch since they're so much cheaper than Pampers!

Re: Anyone use Luvs?

  • I've only used a couple and I don't know if I got lucky. Just wanted to know long-term.

  • We CD but use Luvs at night and when traveling! We switched after 4 poop blowouts from Huggies while on vacation. If you're still having leaks, try going up a size

  • When things got tight when DD was about a year old, we gave up pampers and started getting Luvs. Have been satisfied ever since. I think you'll find they're a great replacement for your pampers.

  • :waves @drea926:

No experience with luvs, but if they work, use 'em. ;) Pampers have been the best fit for our DD so far.

  • Used Luvs for both of my boys, and loved Target Brand too. They always peed out of Pampers Brand, but like PP said different babies do well with different brands.

  • We loved Luvs (hahaha).  They worked and were even cheaper ($ per diaper) than target brand.

  • We use Luvs. While I get some leaks it's no more than with others and usually bc it's not on right. I can't justify spending twice as much on pampers or huggies. You should use them if they are working, unless you get to a point where they don't work.

  • Huggies suck. We usually buy pampers, but the few cases of Luvs we got were great for the price. I keep meaning to switch but always forget when im at the store

  • We've used Pampers, Huggies, Costco brand, amd Luvs so far. Pampers continues to be our tried and true. But I will say that we didn't have any huge issues with the box of Luvs that was gifted to us. I say if they're working for your LO, go for it.

If you're having an issue with overnight leaking and switching brands doesn't fix it, I'd recommend buying some diaper booster pads. That's what we ended up doing. After switching brands, sizing up, trying "overnight diapers", we've found DS is just a heavy wetter at night. So I got a pack of diaper booster pads at BRU for like 5 bucks...they work like a charm. No more leaks.

  • @BluepointToasted I agree with you...Huggies suck. I can't stand em. Ive found that as soon as the tiniest bit of pee soaks into them, they stink.

  • We had luvs given to us. I thought it seemed like they got puffy faster. Like they looked full after one pee but weren't really. We are using huggies right now. They leak overnight. We're going back to pampers.

It seems that the puffiness thing happens with every brand I've tried. I've also had leaks in huggies, pampers and Luvs, but the least in Luvs and only after like 11+ hours in them. He's a heavy overnight peer. I'm sticking with Luvs and saving some money. I also work the nursery at my church and a lot of people use them, more than any other brand.

  • We mostly CD, but when I do use sposies we use 7th Gen. We also like Huggies. Pampers sucked for both my kids, Luvs smelled awful, and Target brand were OK.

We use Pampers & Target brand because those work best here. Use whatever works for your baby. There's no status to be had in spending more on something your kid will literally piss on & you'll throw out.
I wasn't concerned by that at all! I was just finding that Pampers weren't working out as well anymore and wanted opinions on Luvs. It would be an added bonus not to spend extra money.

  • We used Pampers for a long time.  They were beginning to get spendy for us, so I tried Luvs for a change, and we've stuck with them ever since.  We could never use Huggies, because they just didn't fit her thickness well.

  • We CD here, but on the occasion that I've needed to use disposables, I have had great luck with Kirkland brand.

  • with DD1, i used luvs all the time, they were my go to diaper with the target brand in a close second.  for DS it was pampers until size 2, then target all the way.  DD2 is a huggies girl.  i was so excited when i found a few huge boxes of luvs on clearance at target for $3.88 a box, but my little pooper would constantly have up the back blow outs with them.  maybe that was why they were on clearance.
