I know a girl who lives in an apartment complex like that. Her husband got her a video camera monitor so she could go to the apartment pool while the baby slept. I can't believe some people are allowed to reproduce.
Someone on April '14 is putting together a list of "rules for watching her daughter" for her SO. One of them is to always put her in a car seat. Shoot me now if I have to EVER tell my husband our daughter needs to be in a car seat.
I struggled with going out in the yard while DD was napping- even with the monitor!

Yikes. I, too, cannot believe that was an actual question. I mean, duh! My daughter is ten and I might consider letting her stay in the house while I went to the condo gym next building over, but I would still be uncomfortable. Can't imagine an infant!!
WTF is wrong with people?! Sadly it's always the kids that suffer from their parents' stupidity.

When DD was a newborn I had nightmares that I would leave her home alone (not purposefully) and I would get back and realize she was there just hysterically crying or something horrible would happen. I had these dreams like once a week, and NEVER did I EVER think it was ok to have left her home alone IRL. Good god.
EDD for #2 is December 8th, 2013, so excited for our 2nd team green baby!
Not to sound like a judgmental bitch but I seriously worry about that child's safety if 1) dad would even suggest that and 2)mom had to ask other peoples opinions about it...parenting classes are needed and fast.
I was such a paranoid FTM, I wouldn't even take a shower until DH got home for fear that something would happen to her in the 10 minutes I was getting clean. I certainly couldn't imagine leaving my newborn alone to go to the gym. And at a month PP I was still bleeding and not even cleared to work out anyway.
Wow. Someone didn't show up when they were handing out common sense (the H, I mean). She seems to realize the absurdity of his suggestion, but why she would even post to ask others' opinions, I don't even know.
Seriously how do people like this reproduce! Frustrates me to think of all the fertility treatments I had to go through for my babies and idiots like this reproduce daily!
Wow. They both need mandatory parenting classes if that's not mud. That she even needed to ask us... And that he seemed more concerned about her getting in shape than his child's welfare... What a terrible father and husband.
Also, I stupidly clicked the link one of the commenters posted about the kids dying in a fire and am now sobbing. I hate people.
