Cloth Diapering

Lysol

We use mostly natural cleaners in our house, but every year when the stomach bug hits I bust out my trusty can of Lysol. My 3 year old has been puking since 5 am so when I was cleaning up I got the can out from under the sink, but even a tiny bit makes me gag. It's so strong and chemically smelling. Does anyone know of any more natural cleaners that are as effective as Lysol?

Re: Lysol

  • I think vinegar followed with peroxide is supposed to make it way more effective.

  • I don't think the world needs bleach or Lysol.  There are definite alternatives for germ-killing

  • Yes usually more than once a year unfortunately. Last year we only got hit once though so fingers crossed this is it. I used to teach in a public school and then was a daycare director for a few years after that, so germs abound. I still work with little kids a few times a week and my 4 year old has started bringing home disgusting preschool germs...I clean and keep them in when I know a big has hit our town but it's pretty hard to avoid sometimes.
and everyone in my family thinks I'm insane that I want to keep M in a nice, safe, germ-free bubble ;)

Our dogs have enough germs for the entire house! Nasty kid and world germs are not needed! lol
