Stomach flu while pregnant...the worst

DD (2) woke up on Monday throwing up...which meant she threw up on me several times. Yesterday I woke up throwing up and with the runs. Ended up in the doctor's office getting IV fluids for 5 hours because I was so dehydrated. My OB was great and stayed late to give me one more bag of fluid after hours because I was still dehydrated at closing time, otherwise it was off to the Er to be admitted. The last bag did the trick and only had trace ketones after the last bag and a couple of doses of zofran and I'm feeling better...still utterly exhausted, but able to drink water/gatorade and have a few saltines. And I got a bonus look at the babes who were wildly active moving all over the place. But OMG was it awful.

Aww   That bites!  They gave me a flu shot two weeks ago in hopes of helping me avoid that.  Glad you are feeling better!

A flu shot will not protect you from a stomach virus.  The real flu ("stomach flu" is a misnomer) is a respiratory virus.

Yes, she's right...I had the flu shot as well...to prevent influenza....I had a gastroenteritis/gastritis....stomach bug.

I had the stomach flu when I was about 6 weeks with the boys. I didn't even know it was twins at that point. I was already super sick and that just finished me off. It sucked. Hope you feel better soon.
