AW Nursery Name Letters and storage question...

I finally finished LO's name letters and got them up. I'm working on a matching owl shaped wall quilt to hang too. I'll be so happy when everything is finished and in its place. Which leads to my question...

We have very limited room for storage. There is no room for a dresser and our closet is tiny. I'm planning on hanging an extra bar in our closet for LO's clothes, but I still need space for other things. Anyone have any creative ideas for extra/maximizing storage space? We have a few canvas bins in our changing table and a few rubber maid bins under the crib but they're not easy access. Any ideas much appreciated!

Re: AW Nursery Name Letters and storage question...

  • @SSM I was looking for something like this. I'm just not sure we have a good enough spot to hang it. Our "nursery" is in our room too, so I'm all about the space. The only big wall spaces in our room are above our bed, the crib, and the changing table, and I'm not sure that would work well.

I might end up moving the changing table into our living room if I have to.

  • I would try to maximize the storage space in your closet with one of those ClosetMaid-type organization systems, if you haven't already. That way you can adjust the configurations to meet your needs.

Another idea is one of those narrow rolling carts, if you can find the space. We used one of those downstairs, to keep spare pajamas and burp cloths for DS.

  • Our nursery is 100% Ikea -- definitely peep their storage solutions. There is an AMAZING piece in the Hemnes collection we bought that's very slim, meant for shoes, but is PERFECT for baby-sized clothing, towels, etc and has a top like regular dresser so you can put a little light on it. I'm mobile so I can't link, but I'm a huge fan of this piece.

  • I second the closet maid suggestion.  We used that instead of a dresser for awhile in DD's nursery.  We have since bought a dresser but we keep the closet maid thing in the new nursery closet for extra storage.

  • Thank you all for the suggestions. I'm making a list of things to look into!

Our bedroom is the Hemnes collection HA! I love it. We have the bed frame, side tables, large dresser, shelf. I didn't get the shoe organizer because we have a very large walk-in closet, but I looked at them and thought they were such a good idea!
  • Yeah ikea have those hanging sacks you fill with toys and stackable storage bins where the front lifts up so you can still access what's inside.
  • The over the door organizers work great! I used my shoe one for more than just shoes!
