Not getting and never have as I'm allergic to eggs . I was lucky with DS so hopefully this pregnancy will be the same . I have worked law enforcement for 10 years and have come in contact with every kind of person . ( maybe that built my immune system ! ) happy and safe pregnancies to all :-)

Are you working while pregnant? Kudos to you! That seems like intense work.

Hmm! This thread has been eye opening for me. I've never gotten a flu shot (actually, I'm not sure if I've ever had the flu) and none of my friends or family do either.. I guess it's just something that isn't on my radar for some reason! But yes, unborn babies and newborns certainly can face dire risks if exposed to the flu virus.. I think I'll consider the flu shot this year.

Never had one, was leery, changed my mind, husband and all grandparents are getting one because they will be around LO from day one. Got it today after lunch. Couldn't even feel it really and dominate arm feels fine. Done and done. <:-P

Okay, this is the 3rd day now where we have had people say they aren't getting one. I was semi-nice last night, but now I have lost all patient. Unless you have a medical reason (like the poster above who is allergic to eggs) GET YOUR FLU SHOT WHILE PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have gotten the flu shot with every pregnancy, and never felt sick afterwards. I also never got the flu.

One thing hasn't been mentioned - a pregnant woman's lungs aren't as well functioning as normally, and many flu strains can lead to lung inflamations. By not being able to breathe as deeply, your lungs are more prone to pneumonia which is extremely dangerous especially during pregnancy.
I don't usually get the shot but certainly did this time!
