How many times can you get your ring resized?

I got my ring sized when I first got it (to a smaller size) and then again after first LO (to a bigger size).  I feel like I need it resized again, to a smaller size.  How many times can you do it before you start to mess with the integrity of the ring?

It really depends on the material and the thickness of the band.  If you are getting it resized smaller, I'd see about getting something put in that's basically like a spacer so they don't have to actually remove any material, especially if there's the chance you'll need it to go back up again at some point.  My grandmother had this done on a few pieces because her fingers are so skinny.

I'm not sure, but I'm glad you asked. When DH and I got engaged, we had to get it sized down...it was handed down from his parents. Now I've gone below pre-pregnancy weight and it's way big again so we need to take it down a couple of sizes again.

it depends on the ring, but I would probably just ad a spacer for a while.

I used a spacer for a while too.  You have to be careful if it has precious stones and you are getting it smaller.  Resizing shifts the stone settings and can loosen it.  My wedding band was resized several sizes after we got it, and a diamond pops out almost every year (just the little tiny ones thank goodness).

I was told you can take it smaller however many times you'd like. However, to go bigger they must thin the band and this should not be done more than once. Otherwise the band becomes weak and can change shape or break. My GF used to work at Fred Meijer Jewelers. Oh how I miss that discount....
