Help remove nail polish

DD#1 spilled a whole bottle of bright blue nail polish on the wooden dining room table. She was worried that I would yell (and she had that right, I would have, she knows better that to get into my polish and also to use it without a towel underneath. She is 8 by the way, not a toddler) so she hid it under a dish towel so it dried. Is there any hope of saving the table? Polish remover would remove the laquer or whatever the top coat is on the table as well as the polish, right. Anyone have any ideas. It is a pretty big area, about 3" by 9". Ugh.

Re: Help remove nail polish

  • Spray the area with hair spray and let it sit a couple of minutes and wipe it off.  This may take a couple of different times of doing this, but it works.

Yes, after you spray the hair spray and let it sit a few minutes.  Wipe it with a warm damp cloth.  And yes, do NOT use nail polish remover.
