Mirena or the arm implant to prevent pregnancy? The dr said at my appointment today that the pill could possibly dry up my milk so he didn't want to go that route. After reading the info on it he gave me it sounds like I want to go with the arm implant. The thought of the mirena possibly going through my uterus or getting stuck is terrifying. So have you had either? What was your experience? TIA

I haven't used the mirena but I did use the paraguard. Its just like the mirena without the hormones. I loved it and will be getting it again soon.

I dont have personal experience with the arm implants but I have friends who had it and some loved it and some hated it. The ones that hated it, it made them super depressed.

Mirena also is known to affect your milk supply. I know someone who had this happen (she got i removed and her supply went back up). I personally wouldn't go that route just to be safe.

My coworker had the arm implant and had spotting for nearly the entire year she had it in.  She had it taken out, which she said really hurt, and she's not a wimpy lady by any means.

I just got the mirena and so far so good. I def didn't wanna chance getting pregnant right away. And I like not having to remember to take it every day. With LO I don't need anything else to remember daily.

Doctor recommended the mini pill for me as well and I am breastfeeding

I'm on the mini pill and BF. I've always taken the pill so I figured I would stick with it. But yes you have to take it at the same time everyday or it is not effective...this will be my downfall
