So our little guy has discovered his penis. Super fun that he tries to grab himself when you take off his diaper. Or that he stares deep in your eyes and rubs himself during bath time. I thought we had more time before this happened. Five months seems too early.
In other news, our doc thinks his teeth will be coming in within a week or so. We took him in because he was fussy and tugging at his ears. We thought it might have an ear infection starting. Thankfully no ear infection, but we are bracing ourselves for teething.
Re: Wieners and Teeth
My son has made it a point to stand up in the bathtub the last two months when we first put him in, and look at us as he pees. When he is done, he sits down and starts playing as if it was totally normal.
I think it is pretty cool, actually. He is starting to understand the concept, it appears.
As far as playing with it, he better be!! What guy doesn't want to whenever he can??
Teething is the worst. Our guy has 6 teeth, and two more are just starting to work their way out. He is a trooper, and with the Orajel he is able to handle it pretty well. It is to the point now that he makes sure I get it all over his gums. He didn't even do that a week ago.
His peeing habits are pretty cool though. I am very proud of him just standing up in the tub and peeing. Means he is learning from watching me pee. I have been holding him in my arm while I pee from time to time since he was 6 months old. I think it is going to payoff and he will be more confident potty training in the upcoming year or two.
He does at times stand on the toilet seat so he can pee standing up.
@jack19
I thought that instantly. Reads like the title of a learning guide for young brides!! Sometimes, gentle teeth are nice.
Any parent that doesn't expect accidents during the training process is a loser. As sick as I am of diaper changes, his confidence in learning how to do things, and overcoming failure successfully, is much, much more important to me.
