New Here. Two Questions!!

Hi everyone,
My husband and I have recently started talking about baby number 2! We have an adorable 10 month old boy and are hoping to start the TTC process in the next month or two.
My questions are...
1. Has anyone ever used the paragard IUD? If so, when you removed it how long did it take your body to re-adjust? Any post paragard pregnancies? I've heard a lot of talk about how it can take a good six months after IUD removal before you can really start to TTC. Any thoughts/info?

Also anyone have two los that are close in age? Any advice? Some people say it's super hard to have two under two - but others say it's easy since you are already in baby mode. Just wondering what other think.

It can take a healthy couple up to a year to get pregnant, so be prepared for a wait regardless. Temping and tracking are the best way to get an idea of when you ovulate once you are off, so you can time it right.

With the first part, also be prepared that you have a big chance of not getting two under two. Mine are 26 months apart, and honestly everyday is a new struggle. It really depends on your own children. Everyone has a different experience. My best friend's children love each other. Mine scream at each other every SINGLE day.

I don't really agree with baby mode being already in gear though. I think I was in shock for quite awhile. If I got pregnant right now, (DD2 is 10 months), I would be just as scatter brained as I was with the first two.

It really depends on you and the varying needs of your child/future children.

I really have no right really to comment on this but just from aggregating information from friends' opinions, family experiences, etc., I think the fact that you are aware of the challenges and plugged in to that need to reassure the toddler that, even if there isn't constant attention, there is love and specialness and appreciation for both kids, means that it will be 100% fine, even if there are ups and downs.  It seems like the problems occur when people say they're aware but then clearly favour the baby, move the toddler out of their room to make way for the baby, and just otherwise make them feel diminished in perhaps unintentional ways.  Some people are oblivious.  Being aware and following through on helping him feel heard and understood seems to be the biggest part of it.  But I'm sure others with more experience can speak to this with more proof and education rather than my hunch.  Very exciting though!

I had the mirena IUD and got pregnant with my son a month after it was taken out. My period came as scheduled and then 2 weeks later we conceived. My son is now 2 and we are planning to get pregnant with our second baby in the spring. I have friends who have kids closer in age and all of them say it is great and wouldn't have it any other way : ) good luck!!

As soon as my first child turned 11 months we tried again and got pregnant right away. Having babies close in age will be tough for a while but it's worth it in the end!

I've heard some people get pg right away after paraguard, some take a while. My kids are 23.5 months apart and I wouldn't change it for the world. They are those kids who just love each other to death! The first few months is a lot of figuring out routine and how to juggle time with baby and toddler, but once routine is established it's pretty easy. Tiring for sure, but not super hard. In fact my youngest is 8 months now and MH and I are going to start ttc #3 (and final) this month. Can't be much harder than the two we have now. I say go for it!

I am not sure about the first question, but as for the second here is what I have to say: I have an almost 2 and 1/2 year old and she is super active.  I'm a little over 8 weeks and to be brutally honest, without my husband I couldn't do it alone.  Half of the week I am falling asleep on the couch before LO is even in bed.  The other half, I'm completely fine.  We have VERY similar schedules and our daycare is on our street (my DH doesn't drive) so these factors help out tremendously for the days I'm exhausted.  IMO, I am very happy to have a 3/4 potty trained LO (only diapers needed at night) which means we will have only 1 in diapers full time. 

Besides that, keep in mind that you have no clue what your next pregnancy will be like. Thankfully this one has very little morning sickness but a lot of tiredness and the 1st pregnancy had the complete opposite.  I could barely go 30 mins without vomitting everything in my stomach. Sorry, TMI but you get the point.  Good Luck and I hope everything works out.  I REALLY hope you have a DH as supportive as mine to help out when needed.

My two are 19 months apart and we're trying for #3.  Honestly, I thought adding a second was way easier than everyone made it out to be.  My kids love playing together and I love having them close in age.

2u2 sounds very difficult but I've heard two sides to the coin on it. My SIL has a 2.5 YO and a 3 week old. While they are both very cute little boys, I'm sure it's a ton of work and worrying...but parenting is probably like that anyway!
