  • 1. What path of adoption/fostering are you taking? To answer 1 and 2, and an expectant birth mom

    2. Who are you in the adoption triad?

    3. What are so YAY(s) and/or UGH(s) you've had lately?
Yay- Baby girl is now Adia and has an identity! Bonding with AMom lately has given me even more peace in the process and keeps some of the fears at bay.
UGH- My back is KILLING me and my hormones make me angry at 95% of the world 86% of the time. Also, I'm HUGE these days and while I do actually like the way I look pregnant I hate all the questions I get now that it's not really possible to hide.

    4. Where are you in your process? How is it going? I am matched with PAP's and AMom has been to an U/S apt and a birthing class with me, which was amazing. My parents are meeting them for the first time this Sat, which I'm anxious about in and excited and nervous way.

    5. What are you looking forward to happening in the near future? I'm really looking forward to the hollidays. Until a few weeks ago I thought my family would ostracize me due to the pregnancy and adoption because they are so very conservative. The thought of once again spending Thanksgiving and Christmas surrounded by my family makes me happier than it ever has.

    6. What is your favorite childhood Halloween memory? "Sneaking" halloween with my best friend to dress up as a cowgirl and trick or treat for the first time in my life at age 17. (reference super conservative family)
Birthmom to A, 1/8- the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

    3. What are so YAY(s) and/or UGH(s) you've had lately? We attended an appointment with the EMom we're matched with two weeks ago and she passed her Glucose Challenge!  Going back for another appointment this Thursday.

    4. Where are you in your process? How is it going? Matched as of 8/11!  EMom is 27 weeks along.  We've attended all of her appointments with her since our match (she's about 2 hours away), and love having the opportunity to get to know her more and form a relationship.

    5. What are you looking forward to happening in the near future? Both of our families are planning to throw baby showers for us, which will be happening soon.  Then the holidays will be here, and then our little one will be here!  Time is flying.

    6. What is your favorite childhood Halloween memory? Okay, so it's definitely not a childhood memory but it's my favorite Halloween memory!  4 years ago this Halloween one of our nieces was born!!  Since DH and I live close to the hospital, his brother called and asked if we would like to come meet the little one.  DH was the first one to hold her, other than her parents of course, and they still have an incredible bond!  My in-laws were watching the new baby's big brother, but this was the year that the swine flu was big, so additional kids were not allowed at the hospital.  They dropped big brother off at our house after we returned home so they could meet their newest family member.  Big bro (2 1/2 at the time) and I made pumpkin cookies, he stood on a chair next to me at the counter.  Later that night the whole family (10 of us, excluding those at the hospital) went trick or treating.  Best Halloween ever!

    we are until forever...

    3. YAY- got our background checks back UGH- still have a gazillion more things to complete for home study.

    4. Wading through the paperwork mountain to get this home study done.

    5. Thanksgiving and a long weekend.

    6. I dislike Halloween.  My father made me a Rubik's cube costume one year and I got wedged in a doorway and I think it may have traumatized me.  :(  We do have a head start across the parking lot from work bring the kiddos over for a Halloween parade and they are pretty darn cute, so I'm kind of looking forward to that.

Lately... ughs and yays are pretty much are going hand and hand...
YAY - we decided to put our house on the market and we found a NEW (to us) house... On the same day we put the house on the market we put an offer in on the new (to us) house... Fast forward 5 days and we were under contract on BOTH houses... we had a full asking price offer in on our current place... ONLY problem has been they requested a 14 day close date... (UGH)
YAY - our social worker is AMAZING! We just completed visits #2 & 3 (the solos) and will have our final meeting at our new place on the 6th of November!
YAY! we have a large amount of equity in our current house and it will allow us to do some fun things at the new place!
YAY - we were approached by a birthmom who is wanting to plan adoption for her unplanned pregnancy. We are thinking and praying about it currently (this just happened yesterday).

UGH - Moving in 14 days is A LOT of work and stress!
UGH to the buyers who are being PITAs about a few things that we cannot control!
YAY in 10 days all of this will be over and we will be in our new place

YAY we should have our adoption video completed and ready for our profile in the next week!
