Right now we are sort of in a "see what happens" mode. Not really trying but not NOT trying. If it happens, it happens. (I am ready for it to happen!) We're going to "for real" start trying in January.
I'll be 33 in a couple of weeks and am hoping and praying that we get pregnant quickly as I definitely want 2 children. I am thinking that I ought to start charting my temps NOW before we are actively trying just to get an idea of my cycle and all that jazz.
I'm going to start as soon as I buy a thermometer! Yay!
I also have type 1 diabetes, so if I can help it, I'd like to not have an additional risk factor of "advanced maternal age" (which is dumb, I feel like I'm still 24, dur). Suckage.
I tried the "let's just see what happens" approach for one cycle. I hated not knowing what was going on and started charting the end of my first cycle. Cycle 2 was my first full cycle of charting.

Just started charting on Tuesday, 3 days after finishing my last BCP pack! So far, I think my temps are a bit Wonky. Two mornings in a row my temperature when I first woke up was about a degree higher than much later in the day. It will take a few months to see a clear pattern and I figure this first cycle is going to be strange after 5 years on the pill. I am using charting as a tool to try and get more acquainted with my body and fertility.
We aren't planning to try for quite some time, but are finally in a place where it would be a welcome surprise if it happened instead of a total disaster . We are using condoms and hoping to use NFP after I feel comfortable recognizing patterns with my chart/cm/cycle. I used to be crazy regular, so I am hoping nothing has changed. I just turned 24, DH is 26 and we are hoping for 2 or 3 children, hoping to welcome our first within the next 2 years.
I started temping the month before I had my IUD removed -- so June -- and we began ttc in July. I liked getting the hang of it, and even though I had an IUD in I still spotted on a monthly basis so I was able to see a shift in my temps. That helped me get the hang of how FF works.
OK, I've looked at RiteAid and Walgreens for one of these thermometers and cannot find one! Where are they located in the store? I looked by the thermometers in the cold medicine section.

My husband and I do NFP and started charting at the first cycle after we were married. We are not TTC yet, but it has helped immensely in getting used to the ins and outs of my cycle! We also have learned a few interesting things about my cycle that would have been pretty frustrating to find out after we started TTC! I definitely recommend starting to chart before TTC so by the time you're ready to start you have a clear idea of what your body does. Good luck!
I started charting last month...which was weird because I all of a sudden had a 50 day cycle. I'm continuing to do it this month in hopes that I begin to see a true "cycle" and learn a bit more. I say start the process and make it a habit : )

I'm excited to figure out my innards.
