Murder shows

I am obsessed and have been since I can remember. Not csi and stuff like that but cold case files, nightmare next door, and others like it. Anyone else? Hubby always jokes I could kill him and get away with it. Good thing I love him;) I'd love to be a detective but I'm sure I never would. Oh well:)

  • DH and I used to watch Forensic Fridays and The Saturday Night Solution on the now defunct CourtTV all the time when we were dating.

Friday nights are amazing because of Dateline.  Double points if it's a Keith Morrison Dateline!

  • Yes I've watched every episode of the first 48:) and the others you posted I love too. I just can't stop. I read crime library online but sometimes it makes me get anxiety about keeping my kids safe. When my friends tell me they don't like the front door I die inside. I remember a serial killer who was a trucker. He picked his victims by just checking doors if they were locked he moved on, if unlocked then you die. wtf I lock my doors!

  • I always think I am a weirdo because I love the true crime type shows, but I hate gory movies, etc.

  • I love them too!  I watched a forensic files marathon when I was in labor with DS1.  I also prosecute violent crimes, so it is part of my job too.

I miss unsolved mysteries . . .except for the ghost parts.  Those freaked me out.

  • Many moons ago, I'd smoke a bong and then lay in bed and watch Forensic Files and The New Detectives. I think I've seen all of them. Also when H was working nights, I would watch The First 48 every night until I fell asleep, to the point I couldn't fall asleep without it.

I had to stop watching Disappeared recently because it was making my anxiety crazy.

Just wanted to +1 this. Unsolved Mysteries was the best. I just hated the alien ones... those scared me worse than the ghosts. But damn, that show had the best theme music.

  • I'm addicted to watching serial killer movies too. Like the cheap ones. When I used to work at Hollywood Video (throwback) I'd always play those when we were slow

I remember watching an episode of The First 48 were the suspect's name was "Little Boobie." It was hilarious listening to the narrator have to say the name seriously.

  • I absolutely love love murder shows! I was originally studying to be a forensic psychologist. I love figuring out the motive behind it and what caused the decline to that decision.

  • DH and I love to watch Dateline and 48 Hours and argue over whether the person did it. He thinks they did it every damn time, I'm more judicious with my findings of guilt, haha. Love cold case files too!

We joke that we're honing our skills to avoid getting caught like those idiots.

Seriously though. It's sick! Just get a divorce! And they all play innocent even though they were the last person to see them, having affairs and took out a million dollar life insurance policy the day before....

  • Me too.  My husband was legitimately nervous when the first time he came to my apartment the only books on my shelf were murder books.  The fact that I was getting my master's in forensic psychology did not help one bit.
