DD won't let me put a costume on for longer than 20 sec. Here she is in the $5 costume from ON we got today.

How do I encourage her to keep it on? I even tried offering candy and no go.

  • So cute!

Last year we had to "practice" wearing his dinosaur costume. Just wear the damn costume and be adorable, child!

Lol. I know, right? What's the big deal? It's like regular clothes, but with accessories like ears and a tail.

  • She is adorable and I am having the same problem. My mom made LO her costume and she won't keep it on long enough to even get a picture :(

Once he associated the costume with candy he was more willing.

  • We have the opposite problem here--she won't take her costume OFF. She wants to wear it all day, every day--even to sleep. She had a meltdown about taking it off the other day because she want to "show grandpa"

I definitely would try associating the costume with candy.

I was about to give up on Halloween entirely because I wasn't going to force the issue. But then I asked her if she wanted to be her favorite thing EVER (train conductor) and she was all about it. Maybe let her participate in the decision making process?

  • She doesn't seem to enjoy that costume, lol. If she only knew how cute she looks.
  • Such a cute pic! I love that pout!

DS is just starting to walk so we are 'practicing' wearing his costume... for the walking in it and for keeping the darned head piece on his head instead of swiping it off immediately!
  • So freaking adorable. If anyone asks just say she is grumpy cats girlfriend LOL.
