does this seem right? need second opinion?

Hi! I have been seeing my obgyn due to no periods since stopping the pill 6 months ago. I was told that my blood tests came back normal (although my estrogen was only 10.5?!) Two rounds of provera did not work to induce period. So this last week she just went ahead and perscribed me 150mg of clomid without a period or even an ultrasound first. I don't go back for another month. Does this seem right? Don't they usally start you on clomid at a lower does? And shouldn't it be monitored to make sure there aren't 5 mature eggs or anything like that? I am new to all this, so I am not sure if all of this is normal or if it is time to see an RE who specializes in this stuff.

I would absolutely go for a 2nd opinion! If you aren't having a menstrual cycle and aren't ovulating why risk damage to your body or waste a clomid cycle if it will do no good? good luck!

Don't take the Clomid.  Don't see that doctor again.  Run the other way.  Figure out how to report that doctor.  Not having a period is not normal, I don't care what people say.  There's a reason you don't have it and that should be figured out first.

And 150mg is a high dose of Clomid.
    Baby girl N born 10/29/14!

Don't take the clomid! My old Obgyn did that to me I took it then red up in it a few days later and thought this isn't right Since he wasn't monitoring me so I stopped and ended up with a big ruptured cyst!! With meds like that you should be monitored. GL with whatever you decide, finding an RE was the best decision I've made!

Definitely don't take it!  I did go through my gyn for the first rounds of clomid, but she started me with progesterone and at 50mg.  She also monitored me during my cycle and I had a clear diagnosis before she started based on ultrasounds and blood tests.
