Went for my first visit and as soon as they started the ultrasound I knew something was wrong. The baby stopped developing at 6 weeks. I saw nothing. I never thought this would happen to me. Sucks that I still feel pregnant even bloated. Now I have to take the pill to clean me out. Anyone done this before? I'm a little scared about doing it. Just want to hug my LO extra hard today!

Oh I'm so sorry! My sister had to do this twice. I know there was some pain involved and she took a couple of days off work due to it. Aside from that she didn't really talk too much about the physical part of it.

You could ask the PGAL ladies. I've heard they're a good bunch over there.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I had 2 miscarriages after DD but never took a pill because of how my miscarriages happened.  The miscarriage and pregnancy loss board was super helpful for me; many of the ladies over there should be able to give you more information about taking meds to get the process started.   I will be praying for you.

The OP isn't talking about taking BCP. It is normal for a doctor to give an oral med to help the body along so you have a less likelyhood of needing a D&C.

Your first cycle after a loss may be odd but its best to allow your body get back to where it needs to be on its own. Taking bc pills makes absolutely no sense unless you want them to tta for a few cycles. When you do decide to go back to ttc bc pills may make you're cycle wonky and irregular once you come off. I would absolutely ask for a 2nd opinion. It's so hard. I recently went through a loss also. TTCAL is a great group for these sort of questions also. Those ladies are full of great info. Make sure you read their blog before posting though.

Thanks ladies. I'm doing just fine and we are moving on. I have my moments but I can't be sad all the time. I'm glad I didn't have a DNC it would've been harder.
