Hello! It's been forever since I've been on here...probably since my first was a baby! I'm at a loss and hoping someone has some help and/advice. My son, who is almost 10 months, is a terrible sleeper at night. Maybe I was spoiled with my daughter, but nonetheless, I'm at a loss of what to do. He naps well during the day, goes to bed at night around 7:30pm with no problems...but wakes up at 2:30am every night. There was a week or so where he went until 4am, and our pedi said it was ok to nurse him at that point. Lately though, he's been back to waking at 2:30am. I go in, "shh" him for a second, then leave....he cries for 2+ hours before finally falling back to sleep. I've tried the Ferber method, that didn't work (made it worse, he would get even more worked up each time I went in). I've even tried not going in....nothing seems to work. I'm hoping someone has a magic method that works!

Thanks!
Re: Sleep help!
I almost thought this was MUD... your baby sounds pretty normal - maybe even a decent sleeper! My almost 11 month old is still up twice a night - usually around midnight and 4 am. Every once in a while we get a one-wake-up kind of night, but it's rare. Sorry, I know you're looking for advice but my advice is to adjust your expectations.
And, not to get into a CIO debate, but 2 hours is a really, really, really long time to leave your LO to cry. That makes me sad.
I know sleep is hard - I really, truly do. And, I'm sorry that this is difficult for you, but I think your expectations are a little unrealistic (perhaps because your other child was a good sleeper, which I understand). Hang in there. This too shall pass, or so they tell me!
