T&P for DD Thursday

DD (18 months) when for a consult for tubes today. She failed her hearing test on the left and passed on the right (but she has fluid in both ears). The ENT was able to fit her in for Thursday so we are having tubes put in then. I am fine right now but I am sure I will be a mess Thursday. My Mom is going with me (thank goodness). I

DS has tubes in a couple months ago and it went so much better than I had dreamed.  The surgery was quick & recovery was a snap.  I'm hoping it's the same for you

DS1 had 2 rounds of tubes. The first set when he was 10 months. They worked wonders both times. GL.

Thanks guys! I am most worried about DD being unhappy about no food and water that morning. We have to be at the hospital at 6 so hopefully I can get her out of the house and in the car without her waking up. Oh andif sshe starts crying for me when I have to leave her I will probably lose it.

I had them twice as a kid so I know they are miracles. Actually the surgeon that's doing DD's did my last set about 20 years ago.

Good luck, your DD will do great. My DD had a simple procedure a while ago, and seeing them wheel her away was hard...but she was in awe of the nurses and the bed and everything else, so she didn't care at all!

A friends son has had tubes placed twice and it was easy both times and following tubes he passed hearing tests, ears cleared up and he made huge strides in speech. It is no fun but she will do great!
