Just for funsies.

I fully admit to thinking about this name because I am head over heels for the NN Rudy.

Aside from the reindeer associations-- how brutal is this as a FN?

Adorable! I love it, and not just as a GP name. Use it! I agree with PP, I have never thought about the Reindeer when I think about Guiliani or Rudolph Valentino.

Neither DH or I have even a drop of German blood in us. We are from NY -- so we do have a very positive association with the former mayor.

Buuuuutttt.....I am not sure I could ever pull the trigger on this name.

I might have to long list it for now.

Haha, I can actually see Grover more than Rudolph because my AWESOME first boss was named Grover and he totally owned that name.

Anyway, OP, I'd say go for it if you love it. If kids tease him in the playground (and how ironic would that be, given the message of that particular song), he can say, "No, not like the reindeer. Like THE SHEIKH."

They won't have any clue what he's talking about, but everyone needs to learn about classic movies sooner or later . . . besides, playground teasing is a phase. You only get teased for being Rudolph for a few years. You're stuck with Messiah until a judge overturns it for life.
