showing potty interest

My DS is showing interest more and more to pee on his potty. Sometimes he will go a drop sometimes a little more and there have even been times that he says poop or pee and didnt do anything. I do feel like he is able to pee a little more and more. DH and I have been asking him before his tub or putting his pj's on if he has to pee. He generally says yes so we go with it. I really don't know if he is completely ready and honestly was not planning on training him until he seemed really ready. So...should I just keep going with the routine we have and letting him go when he says yes to going? Is this dragging it out or could it cause future regression? Not sure of the best next steps.I know every child is different.
