Or are those a no-no? I have to do something, I started Zofran several days ago and I cannot poop. It's to the point now where I'm having intense stomach cramps. I take the full dose of colace (per my OB), but that's not working.
I hadn't gone in 4-5 days and my doc told me to take a dose of Milk of Mag just to get things moving and then take fiber or miralax to prevent it. Holy crap, Milk of Mag was my savior. haha

Ask your OB. I think enemas are not a great idea because I think they can trigger contractions (a lot of laxatives can do this actually)--could be wrong about enemas, but just make sure you know it's safe and don't take anything without discussing it. I do feel your pain though. I'm very constipated and trying to use dried prunes/prune juice.
I hadn't gone in a week and was taking a stool softener every morning and night and now things are slowly starting to move. We live 45 minutes from town so I couldn't just run and get milk of mag like I so wanted to.
The saline enemas generally aren't recommended because they can be very dehydrating, but most doctors will okay a plain warm water enema. I don't have a reusable enema, so if I'm desperate I buy a cheap saline enema at the store, pour all but a couple of tablespoons of the saline solution down the drain, and refill the bottle with warm water.

My dr recommended miralax first but I had to resort to an enema because I literally couldn't remember the last time I went...I knew it was longer than a week
