I cover the family with health insurance because DH is a small business owner. My job sucks and I pay about $1200 per month for a medical plan with high co pays and not so great coverage. Is this normal? What is your health insurance situation like?
We're through DH's work. It costs us about $100/mo for all four of us.
Unable to even.

Right now, my health care for myself and DD is 100% covered (I have United), but in January we are going to have to start kicking in. My company will be paying 87% of the bill and I will have to kick in the rest. The monthly cost is going to be 140.00 (or 1660 annually). Our co- pay is 35.00.
DH is on his own insurance that is paid for by his company as well (he works for the city).

Our family plan is $200/month through my employer. Before my hospital was bought out and profitized I paid the same for much better coverage through United, but even still it's pretty good. It's through BCBS. Low deductible 80/20 but only $3000 oop. Most things are covered without having to meet our deductible though, assuming we stay in network (my employer).
My husband and I are both teachers and our plan through BCBS is $1300+ a month. My district pays the minimum, but his pays a little more. We pay over $800 a month between the two of us. It is a total rip-off.
How do y'all live paying that much. That's insane. Dh has free through va and the kids qualify for state care. But once dh job has open enrollment I'll get a family plan at around 2-250 a month. I have no insurance as I lost mine in august

I took a look at the obamacare plans just to see and you might pay less on an obamacare plan depending on your state. We have to have a multi state plan because SDs live in another state and those plans were about $1000. I would at least look into it.
We have Aetna, fully paid by DH's work. We have no deductible, $10 copay for sick visits, $0 for well, $20 for specialist. We are pretty lucky, especially since DD2 has had quite a few sick appointments with specialists this year.
See once upon a time there was a man named Tommy Douglas and now I get health care for free. J/k. Sorta.
I get extended health and dental through my work's group plan and I think it's about 200$ a month for pretty much 100 percent coverage for my whole family which my employer pays.

About $200 per month. This is through my work and we have BC. It's an 80/20 plan with $1500.00 individual deductibles. I can't remember what the family deductible is. My company pays $1000 per year towards a health fund, which can be used towards our deductibles.

H has insurance through his employer. We pay $181/month for a plan with a $1000 deductible, $25 office visit copays, and $3000 OOP max. A and I have a separate plan, $500 deductible, $20 office visit copays, and $1250 OOP max. We pay about $756/month for that. That price will be going up in 2014, though. :-( I'm hoping H's employer will start offering a family plan next year, but we haven't received open enrollment information yet.
We get our insurance through my job (I teach) and it costs us nothing out of pocket. $0 copay for all things preventative, $20 for office visits & $100 for outpatient surgery. Delivery cost us nothing out of pocket. Dental sucks but that's ok - we have it so good I can't complain.
I'm a little queasy reading what you all pay. That's highway robbery...

We have BCBS. It's a family plan, high deductible plan since we rarely go to the doctor. $470/month. It's our own plan, not through a company.
