sleep help

I have been a long time lurker on this board, I hope you don't mind me posting. I am desperate for help. DS was a great sleeper until the 4 month regression and hadn't recovered. He is EBF but doesn't take a bottle well at daycare and reverse cycles, although it just started around 4 months. He is up every hour to 2 hours and even if I get him back to sleep without nursing, he wakes up an hour later.

I have been trying to get him to self soothe, but he is wide awake and starts crying within minutes. I can't let him CIO because DD has Autism and is very sensitive to loud noises and she wakes up screaming if he cries for more than a minute.

DS uses a paci, but it doesn't help. Please help, 6 months of sleep deprivation is killing me.

Re: sleep help

  • I have no advice just sympathy! I've tried everything with DS and he still fusses and cries at night and is up multiple times. I agree with you on the 6 months of sleep deprivation!!

  • We were in the same boat and had to CIO for 2 of the wakes ups. Now she goes about 4 hrs between wakes up. Occasionally 5hrs which is amazing.

It only took 3 nights. First night was about an hour. Second night about 20 min and 3rd night about 15. After that she woke up and fussed a couple minutes and got back to sleep. From what I've read here with many people if only took a couple nights. We are debating trying to cut out one more because I truly believe she could go 6-8hrs without eating. When she does wake up she is just snacking, she isn't nursing long enough to get a full tummy to last her.

Anyway, could DD stay with a relative or wear earphones or something for a couple nights to give it a try.
