Hey ladies. I was just wondering when you had your twins. All my Drs have different oppinions on when they think and want the twins to come. I'm very aware the twins will come when they are ready and that everyone is different. I'm really just curious.

I do know that they will not let me go longer the 38 weeks.

My OB/GYN said no later than 38 weeks. We scheduled my c-section for 37w5d. My water broke a few days prior to the scheduled date and I delivered at 37w2d.

At first, it was during the 38th week. Then when I was dx w pre-e, it was "earlier than 38w, we hope 37w".

My water broke at 34w.

I was scheduled to be induced a little after 38 weeks (my OB doesn't like twin preg to go much past 38w), but I had a c/s at 37w due to preeclampsia.

My doctor originally scheduled my C section at 37 weeks. She likes to deliver btwn 37 and 38 due to risk of placental breakdown. She was leaning to 37 as I am a bit petite and the babies were measuring healthy sizes with great development. We ended up doing the C section at 36 weeks exactly bc my ultrasound showed that their growth had stalled - nothing alarming, but no reason for me to be in so much discomfort. Both babies were born healthy and didn't even go to the NICU.

Disclaimer - I did have magnesium at 25 and 27 weeks along with steroid shots for lung development during threatened PTL. It may have helped their development.

My C-Section was scheduled for 37 weeks (mo/di boys) and I went in to labor and delivered them at 34 weeks 1 day.

C sec scheduled at 38 and a half weeks but went into labor at 37.

37 weeks.

It really depends on 1) your OB and 2) what type of twins. Most OB's go with 39wks for di/di and 37wks for mono/di as the longest they want to wait. If there are complications or other high risk factors, they will likely move it up from there.

I haven't had mine yet but just recently was told that 32 weeks is my goal and anything after that is just a bonus. I was very surprised by this as it seemed early. I also know they won't let me go much past 38 weeks at all.
