As a spinoff from the post trying to get rid of fleas, I'd like to know what you do to prevent them. We have a dog and a cat and I hate the idea of putting poison on their necks every month. Our vet has actually switched to a pill for dogs, and it's even worse. It has the most disgusting chemical smell, my dog hates it and pukes it up. I can't blame her. Please share some less poisonous options with me please!
Re: Flea and tick prevention?
It also helps to have a good foundation for preventing pests. As natural a diet as you can swing (raw homemade, cooked homemade, commercial raw, dehydrated commercial raw, human grade canned, or high quality meat based kibble) serves to give your dog an edge.
I've never used chemical prevention and never had a single flea!
