Thinking ahead

I know it's super early to be considering labor buddies, but I am already having a hard time deciding who I want my LB to be. I am partial to so many of you, it will be hard for me to choose...  As we get further into the second trimester, we should figure out who we want to be in contact with, and then we'll need someone to keep track of who is with whom. It's so exciting to have that special connection!!

@mrscrcalli, @SeattleMomma, @Beachgal72, and @kbuckleyharp - a labor buddy is the person you communicate with from The Bump about appointments, and more specifically about labor. When one of you goes into labor, you contact your labor buddy with details as soon as possible, so she can update the other A14ers. Basically, your labor buddy becomes your spokesperson. Usually, you communicate through private messages, then Facebook, and some women go so far as to call or text each other. You have to choose your labor buddy carefully, and when you feel comfortable approaching someone and asking her to be your LB, you send her a private message. When we start making LBs, we'll post them on a thread that can stay at the top of our page so everyone knows who is keeping up with whom. It's pretty cool. 

edited to add: labor buddies should have EDDs a couple of weeks apart to try avoiding same time labors...

Agreed!!! Well maybe we can think of a way to make it easier and so no one gets left out. Picking five names and drawing or something similar. I don't think 30% post very often. I guess we shall see in time.

Cool idea! But it's giving me nightmares back to elementary school when I got picked last on the playground :P . I'm 4/19, too, @mrscrcalli !

I'm all for FB. I've already made my announcement. I find it difficult to keep up on this app and fb is more open and easy to read. Just throwing it out there.

Although I love this idea, I do feel some of us may get left out coz of time differences and not all being able to post/ be available at the same time??

Good point! Maybe the time zones could play a role in the random picking. I'd love too hear what Thomas has too say about this. She's pretty organized in my opinion, maybe her and wifeofacomposer could come up with something together.

Yea, I'm all for the random (or somewhat random) element because I like so many of you! I definitely have a time zone issue, but then again, we could all go into labor in the middle of the night, etc.

Totally agree with them being organized.

Is there a way to see a full list of A14? I only use this app on my Mobil, so I'm limited.

Umm, I've actually never done anything like this before This would be my first go around with Labor Buddies. I think time zones should definitely be considered though.

I'm just shooting ideas out. I'm extremely unorganized and a horrible planner. My only request would be to have a weekly/ daily active bumper. Other then that nothing matters.

I said about time zones coz I'm from England and trying to speak to all of you ladies on ur time is sometimes confusing as not knowing where ur all from and we're not online long at the same time. Obv the baby don't care what the time is but I was thinking more about chatting to people and bonding with others is more difficult when the times are so different.
