Re: GTKY

  • I'm not all that organized and we have a small kitchen so it's a challenge.  I literally have boxes of snack stuff from Sam's Club stacked up in the dining room which is for the bigger kids.  For Maren, I have breakfast baby foods in a plastic tub on the counter along with another tub holding more lunch/dinner type foods.  Her snacky foods are really the foods we eat with the exception of Baby Mum Mums which she and Sully love.  I buy those by the case from Amazon so they are just in a big box on the floor by the radiator (very organized, I know.)

Bibs are in a bowl right by her high chair.

Bottles, sippies, dishes, etc are all in the cabinets right above the dishwasher along with some parts being on a drying rack I have near the sink.

We've used the space saver high chair for all of our kids and put it on an old dining room chair.  Maren sits at the table with the rest of us.

Did someone say bento????  I've been making Quinn bento lunches now that she's in all day school.  She says when she opens her lunch the other kids gather around to see what she's brought.

Wow, I suck at adding pictures but here are two.   And no, those aren't marshmallows, it's cut up string cheese.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • Holy Cow!  I  must be the most unorganized mom here!

How do you store & organize LO's food and snacks
We do BLW so LO doesn't get special foods. I SAH so I don't need to pack food for him.  The only snacks he gets is a mix of cheerios/puffs/yogurt melts. I mix them together then store them in a puff container on the shelf.

Where are bibs and wash cloths?
Umm.. we use smocks (M is messy eater) and I wash them after each use, so they are usually hanging on the balcony outside to dry.  Wash cloth is in the bathroom.

    Bottle/Sippy cup parts?   LO's dishes?
Bottles are on the kitchen counter. He only has one sippy so it's in use during the day; dried in the dish drain at night.  He only has 1 plate and that goes into our daily cabinet.

Do you have a lunch box/ bento for LO(s)? Food containers? Share a pic or linky if you have a favorite storage solution!
I SAH, so we don't have a lunch box.  I bought a dozen of Ball's 4oz canning glass jars for storing food for M.  They are much cheaper than other glass containers marketed for babies, and they are safe for high temps (since they are canning jars, they are meant to be steamed), as well as for freezer.

What type of high chair? Where is it?
M actually has 3 high chairs at home - 2 of them we got for free.  His day-to-day high chair is the IKEA one, and it's right at our dining table.  One is the FP Healthy Care booster seat that straps onto a dining chair.  We use it when M's little friends visit.  The last one is a clip-on travel high chair.  It's clipped on to our kitchen counter/peninsula. We only use it occasionally on weekends when DH & I are having a snack at the counter.

  • I am an organization freak.

How do you store & organize LO's food and snacks? I have a corner lazy Susan cabinet for all LOs kitchen items. We do BLW/homemade food so leftovers are in the fridge. I do have a few pouches in bins in her cabinet.

Where are bibs and wash cloths? Bibs hang on a hook on the inside if the cabinet door. Washcloths are in a drawer.

Bottle/Sippy cup parts? LO's dishes? Cups and bottles each have their own basket in her cabinet. I don't have bottle parts laying around unless they are drying, I put the bottles together before storing.

Do you have a lunch box/ bento for LO(s)? Food containers? Share a pic or linky if you have a favorite storage solution! I save DDs leftovers in mini 6oz Libby glass containers. I am obsessed with bentos but I stay at home with LO so no need for a lunch box yet!

What type of high chair? Where is it?
DD has a basic wooden highchair that I got from a local boutique. I love that I can just wipe it down! I'd love to eventually paint it navy! It looks kind of like this:

  • The Organized Kitchen Edition - We are so NOT organized...I try, but often fail ;)

How do you store & organize LO's food and snacks?  Just in the cabinet with the rest of the food.  Mum mums, puffs, and pouches of baby food.  I also have some frozen homemade food in the freezer in ziplock bags.

Where are bibs and wash cloths?  Bibs in the kitchen by her high chair (or hanging on the handle of the dishwasher after they have been washed to dry).  Wash cloths in DS's dresser.  I usually use Viva papertowels to wipe her (and the other 2) off after eating.

Bottle/Sippy cup parts? LO's dishes?  Bottle parts on a shelf in a cabinet.  Sippy cups and parts in a sippy cup organizer: https://www.amazon.com/PRK-Products-Inc-Universal-Organizer/dp/B005ODV22S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382123349&sr=8-1&keywords=sippy+cup+organizer  The kids dishes are in a bottom cabinet next to the dishwasher so they can get their own cups, spoons, plates, etc.

Do you have a lunch box/ bento for LO(s)? Food containers? Share a pic or linky if you have a favorite storage solution!  DS and DD had Fresh Vac ones last year for school and I liked those: https://www.amazon.com/Freshvac-LP4-127-Lunchpac-Square-Sage/dp/B005QOW404/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382123432&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=fresh+vac+lunch+box
Now they just have the lunch bag that matches their backpack - crocodile creek

What type of high chair? Where is it?  Space saver at the kitchen table.

  • How do you store & organize LO's food and snacks? DH built shelves in our laundry room which is next to the kitchen. I keep all of H's food in there.

Where are bibs and wash cloths? Both are in the nursery in a canvas basket that fits into a cubby on a shelf.

Bottle/Sippy cup parts? LO's dishes? Bottles are always on the drying rack next to the sink and we just got sippy cups to try and those will stay in the cabinet with our cups. H's bowls are in the cabinet with ours and his spoons are in the drawer with ours.

Do you have a lunch box/ bento for LO(s)? Food containers? Share a pic or linky if you have a favorite storage solution! Nothing special for storage in this respect.

What type of high chair? Where is it? No high chair yet. We really do need one but it's been tough getting back on our feet after me going four months without a paycheck. I'm hoping to get one in the next couple of weeks. It will be kept in the kitchen though, next to the table.
