July 2012 Moms

look at me! look at me!

So, some of you may have seen my post on the J12 fb group the other day about the sanctimommy who's baby knows lyrics, and motions and whateverthefuckelse to a ton of songs, not Only in English (because that wouldn't be special) but also in French... And it got me thinking... Have I don't anything lately that is worthy of a status update that would make everyone else hate me!?!?!

Why yes I have!!!!

Today I...

Did all of my Christmas shopping (bought the same thing for everyone)
Got a flu shot
Bought a shitload of string cheese
Bought body wash (we've only been out for a week, its cool though, I had a bar of soap)
Paid 3 bills
Went out for lunch so someone else could make my kid food
Did two loads of laundry. Did not fold them.

I believe that qualifies me for some kind of award.

So, friend, tell me why you're so swell.

Re: look at me! look at me!

  • Well. I was up literally all night with a pukehead. I managed to give him 2 baths, change his pjs 3 times, and his sheets 3 times plus run two loads of laundry all during the middle of the night. I was at work for just about 10 hours today. After work i Ran another load of laundry and made 2 different dinners plus 2 lunches for tomorrow, fed the kid, gave him a bath, read 600 books and finally got him to sleep. Yay me.

  • Today I dealt with a molar cutting monster (he only has 5 other teeth, so why not get 2 molars now?), did 2 loads of laundry, folded 3 and put them all away, washed dishes, went out and picked up some long sleeved shirts for said monster, along with pants for my nephews, dropped the pants off with my sisters, and almost finished wrapping an overdue baby present.  After all that, I told DH we were having Moe's for dinner.

Oh!  I forgot the most important thing - I showered. :D

  • @Cwn11985 You are the definition of a super mom! Go girl!
I hung out with a fresh baby at the hospital today and it got me so excited to meet my girls. I changed the first giant poopy diaper and it was very exciting.

    Niiiice.

I also paid bills today, and even though we moved three months ago I finally set up the auto payments for our new utilities so I am not scrambling to get checks in the mail.

I meal planned for next week (in my head but it still counts).

I priced diapers since Amazon and Pampers aren't living up to my standards, although I still have no clue what brand and where I'll be buying them from now on.

I have always used target brand and have never had any issues. I'm not sure what size Oliver is in but they are .18 a diaper for the size 5's. The huge packs are all 24.99 and last us a month with just Camden wearing them now.

Today I went grocery shopping, fed the kids lunch when we got home and proceeded to take a 2.5 hour nap with them. I did make dinner tonight but DH did their baths and Jammies and I just have Camden his bottle and Jace his bottle for bed. I will really miss him when he goes back to work on Tuesday!

  • Yesterday, I did laundry and make dinner and was a mom to four. Enough said. :)

I love that you bought everyone the same christmas gift..you are a genius!

  • Well yesterday I....

    Worked.

Drove to my sister's to pick up the baby (she on the way home to my house). Hung out a while so my mom could go home as she is afraid to drive in the dark.

    Picked up dinner.

We are not too special over here. My baby does not speak French. Hell, he doesn't even walk. He has not found the answer to the meaning of life. Although he has figured out how to pick his nose.  That makes me so darn proud!!!

  • @nesenotes - WTH happened???

Now today I've only managed to shower since its 7am here.
Yesterday I got to work 10 minutes late (stupid 85 south in the rain), started hand embroidering the Alabama A for Hayden's elephant costume (roll tide!) at lunch. Paid an overdue hospital bill from when hayden was born (oops). Got stuck in traffic again. Made dinner. Rearranged Hayden's room for the step kids this weekend. And ended the day with a minor meltdown over how disgustingly dirty the house is. I can't wait to find a house so we can get this move over with.

Oh crap. I meant to respond to that! I bought everyone a book called The Story of A Lifetime. Its a book that has 500 questions about your life and the idea Is that you leave it behind. I plan to give one to each of our parents and grandparents with a "love letter" explaining how important it is to us to know about who they are outside of the roles we've always seen them in.
That is a wonderful idea. I might have to steal it - LO has a great grand mother who says she's waiting to see her before she passes - which will be Christmas. Would make a great pressie I think.

You planning a vacation for the rest of the week now that you've crammed a week's work into a day?
  • @andreab7412 Do you use Huggies little movers? Or Snug and Dry? I don't know hte Huggies lingo lol. I have been using Pampers swaddlers during the day and Baby Dry at night.
Huggies are crap early on, but I LOVE the Little Movers.  We're doing the slip-ons now and they make diaper changes so much easier.  We have yet to have a leak and he wore one for about 6 hours last weekend.  Oops.

Hi.  I wanted to add that we use huggies snug and dry.  I buy the huge box from costco... It last us about one month. Never any leaks or blowouts, they work amazingly well.  I really like the cinched waist.
We do huggies overnights since the kid pees like a faucet at night.

  • Yesterday I got the carseat moved from the van to the car because the car was dead, got the kid to daycare late, got to work late, worked all day, got her from daycare, went to dinner, gave her a bath and put her to bed without too much fuss. In fact, I said bedtime and she took my hand and walked with me into her room and tried to get her dolly out from her crib before going in. Oh, and went out into the snow and freezing ass temps to try to jumpstart the van with my little car in my yoga capris and tennis, bad life choice on my part and it didn't work. Stupid low energy vehicle.
