Induction with Gels

Hi-

I posted last week about concerns of pre eclampsia. All my bloodwork comes back normal, I have a slight amount of protein in my urine and have had elevated but nothing crazy blood pressure wise until today. Today my BP was very elevated and they sent me to the hospital for monitoring.Midwife wanted to induce me today but I opted to come home and give some natural methods one last try. I go back tomorrow to the hospital for monitoring again.  I am afraid I am facing induction with gels, she said she would avoid pitocin. Anyone have any experience with induction with gels? I am 41 weeks

No direct experience.  There are several ladies here who had had natural births even though they are induced.  I know an induction is not what you want but try not to let it worry you/stress you out.  I hope the natural remedies work and labor gets started.  I am sending positive thoughts your way!

I had an induction with P gel two days in a row and then cervidil. My water broke minutes after the cervadil was removed. My contractions were very intense right away (within 30 minutes I my water breaking), but I really don't know if that has anything to do with the induction or just with my water breaking. It was my first labor so I don't have a point of reference:)

The bottom line is that lots of women have done it all natural and most importantly - YOU CAN TOO! Definitely. You got this.

Still fighting off induction, I am 42 weeks on Thursday if she doesn't come before then I will agree to induction. Thank you for the advice and positive vibes!

@pe3we303  I would see if they can try a foley balloon first. At 41w 5d that was enough to jump start my labor and I was able to avoid cervical ripening gels and pitocin. Best of luck to you!
